Visiting the MIT Museum

Welcome to the MIT Museum in Cambridge, MA. With two floors of exhibits, you will find many exhibits and displays of interest. Visitors from around the world are often surprised by the variety and the unique aspects of the MIT Museum, the only museum on the MIT campus.

A few pointers:

  • The Museum takes 1 – 2 hours to visit, depending on your interest level.
  • The Museum is best suited for ages 12 and up; special programs are offered for both middle and high school students, and for adults.
  • Parking is metered on the street or available in nearby lots
  • The Neighborhood – LOMA, Lower Mass. Ave., in Cambridge is coming alive after several years of reconstruction. New sidewalks, street trees, parks, pubs, stores and restaurants now surround the MIT Museum.
  • Food - the Museum does not have a restaurant on site, but there are many nearby, as well as ice cream, pizza and snack shops. Within a few minutes walk you will also find restaurants large enough for groups, a hotel restaurant, several gourmet dining places, as well as a variety of multi-ethnic restaurants and pubs.
