Charles Mason Wilkes

Executed on a single sheet of paper, Charles Wilkes' thesis drawing exhibits many of the rendering techniques and elements that characterize student work of this period. Wilkes did not go on to practice architecture after completing his studies at MIT, but instead became an sewer construction engineer, working in Minnesota and Chicago, and later, for the Chicago's World Fair.
