Community invited to partake in, contribute to Inauguration 2012

The MIT community is invited to participate in and contribute to the Inauguration 2012 activities taking place from September 19-22. In addition to the ceremony at 2:30 pm on Friday afternoon, there are open symposia (no registration required) on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings — plus a community festival for faculty, staff, students, alumni and their families on Saturday, Sept. 22. All of these events and activities are open to the entire MIT community.

You can also contribute your experience, skills and abilities to the festivities. The MIT community is invited to submit proposals or register to:

• Present a three-minute talk during the opening session of A Globally Engaged MIT Symposium drawing attention to your MIT international program, center, activity, or idea for the future;
• Run the Beaver Dash: 5k and a few smoots, to benefit Habitat for Humanity;
• Play the Around the Dome Campus Quest, a campus-wide hunt for teams of 3–6 players;
• Volunteer
