Mentor Advocate Partnership
The Mentor Advocate Partnership is a volunteer mentoring program for first-year MIT students. MAP seeks to foster the holistic development of students along both academic and non-academic dimensions. At the core of MAP is a sincere, trusting partnership between student and staff that has the potential to persist throughout the undergraduate years.
As part of MAP, you will be provided:
- A mentor advocate from a network of MIT staff and faculty who share a commitment to you
- A peer mentoring group
- Informal meetings at least four times per semester during your first two years
- A relationship that reinforces your academic and personal development
- A plan that sets academic, personal, leadership, research, and other developmental goals for your first year.
MAP complements the support networks and important relationships you establish at MIT.
