Hephaestus: God of fire. Son of Zeus and Hera. An expert metalsmith, he created in his smithy under Mount Aetna: (1) arms for Achilles, (2) arms for Aeneas, (3) a scepter for Agamemnon, (4) the necklace of Harmonia, fatal to all who wore it, (5) the shield of Heracles. The Cyclopes were his workmen.
