With a grant from the Wenner-Gren Foundation for Anthropological Research, I am conducting ongoing ethnographic research with artisan and farmstead cheesemakers in New England, Wisconsin, and California. I am curious to understand who's making new artisanal cheeses and why, as well as how cheesemaking engages both craft and science, particularly in the making of raw milk cheese. |
