Welcome to the website of the Ultracold Hydrogen Group at MIT. Formerly known as the "Spin-Polarized Hydrogen Group," this physics lab specializes in the cooling, trapping of Spin-Polarized Atomic Hydrogen. We peek at it, probe it and even bose condense it. Our research lab is headed by Prof. Thomas Greytak (condensed matter) and Prof. Daniel Kleppner (atomic physics)

We are located in the Center for Materials Science and Engineering (CMSE) of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Location on Campus

All our labs are on the second floor of Building 13 at MIT. If you'd like to visit the lab or just see where we are located, take a look at this map: CMSE location (Bldg. 13).
