Definition of a vector .
- A right line, AB, considered as having not only
length but also direction, is said to be a vector.
- The direction
of the vector AB is that of the point B as viewed from A, and
the vector BA is the
opposite of AB, being equal to it in length
but having the opposite direction.
- All equal right lines AB,
A′B′, etc., which have the same direction are equal vectors.
