MIT Reengineering Team:
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Objectives for the Community Involvement Team
-
Assist reengineering teams in sharing their work and its effects with the
MIT community through information sessions, special events, Tech Talk articles,
the Web, town meetings, promotional materials, and email messages and reminders.
-
Encourage teams to solicit ideas and perspectives from the community and
to integrate those suggestions into the redesign or implementation process
wherever possible. An example of this is the Ad Hoc Resource Group for
Mail Services that brings together customers of a redesigned process and
the director of Mail Services to explore ways to continue improving the
service.
-
Help foster a strong sense of community at MIT in the following ways: draw
attention to community-building activities already underway, help coordinate
events or activities that will bring together various segments of the community,
be aware of the attitudes and reactions of the community and provide necessary
feedback to the senior administration.
