Deemed Export Certification for H-1B or O-1 Visa Application

MIT Administrators > H-1B Visa > Forms H > Actual Wage Form

MIT DLCs must include export control related attestations with applications for H-1B and O-1 visa status .

USCIS' Form I-129, which is used to file H-1B and O-1 petitions for foreign national employees on behalf of MIT, asks questions about whether or not the foreign worker will use technology subject to export control regulations.

The Office of Sponsored Programs and the Office the General Counsel have formulated an attestation form that must be signed for each case and submitted to the ISchO with the other documents for H-1 or O-1 processing.

Questions can be addressed to Janet Johnston, MIT’s Export Control Officer in the Office of the Vice President for Research.

Your assistance in facilitating MIT compliance with the USCIS and Department of Homeland Security requirements is greatly appreciated.
