Supply Chain Response to Terrorism

Researchers at the MIT Center for Transportation and Logistics (CTL) conducted studies on how supply chains are impacted by disruptions such as terrorist attacks, natural disasters and logistics failures. More recently this has expanded into supply chain risk management, supply chain security and port resilience and security.

Conducted by Prof. Yossi Sheffi and Jim Rice, the project resulted in rich content that has been published in a number of articles and books.

Most recently, CTL has become part of the DHS-funded Center of Excellence, "The National Center for Secure and Resilient Maritime Commerce" with a focus on developing resilient and secure ports. .
