The Alaska Seafood Marketing Institute has developed new materials for
teachers and students studying salmon. The new materials are designed
for 4th and 5th grade students, and can be adapted for older or younger
students. They include a 14-minute video, "Alaska's Harvest: Alaska
Salmon," about salmon as part of the Alaska eco-system (In addition
to footage of the salmon life cycle, the video includes shows bears and
birds, fishing activity, etc.) This set of materials complements those
previously released for students grades K-2 and their teachers, built
around an interactive salmon life-cycle poster. The materials are available
on the ASMI website and are all free of charge.
