Background
Itoiz was around for quite a while but stopped putting music out in the mid-80s. Rumor has it this is somehow related to the fact that there is no market for Basque music outside of the País Vasco area... They're often grouped as a sort of "prog rock," but are heavily influenced by Basque folkloric music, resulting in some excellent guitar and flute solos. If any of you understand Basque, I apologise in advance for mangling your language.

Lyrics
Adibidez cherie
ene azala ikusi
erromantzearen biktima
ta marea jetsi
jadanik erne zait
abentura nahia
tori ero-litroak
garagardoz ileak horitzen zaigun

Marea gora .... marea behera

Marea gora .... marea behera

Gaua lehertu da gure ezpainetan
azken tabernan gaude
musikaz blai
autobide honen bukaeran
ilunaren uhinak
berriz jetsiko dira
igotzeko bihar gauez.

ESTRIBILO Y SOLO DE GUITARA SOBRE ARMONIA DE ESTROFA
.....berriz jeitsiko dira igotzeko bihar gauez.

ESTRIBILLO (BIS)
This is the story of a pretty girl1
Who sees through my cover2
A victim of romance
And receding tides
Already watching attentively
Desirous adventure
Take me, crazy muse.
A beer, long dyed blond hair, this resting place

High tides... Low tides

High tides... Low tides

The night explodes to our repeated kissing3
We're at last call
Drowning musically
A dead end road
Darkening waves
Once again they recede
Only to rise again tomorrow night

CHORUS AND GUITAR SOLO IN HARMONY OF VERSE
Once again they recede, only to rise again tomorrow night

CHORUS (BIS)

1. Cherie isn't a Basque word. In fact, there's no c in Basque.
2. Azala is a cover or peel, as on a book or fruit
3. Ezpainetan is something like making out, but that just doesn't fit well here!
