I'm passionate about innovation and design thinking in industries that create social value.
Prior to Sloan, I worked for a venture-backed ed-tech company in business development and strategy - collaborating closely with technology partners and philanthropic foundations. I earned my undergraduate in American Studies magna cum laude from Georgetown University.
For the past 4 years I've been living in Boston and working at Putnam Associates, a strategy consulting firm specializing in the life sciences. For the majority of my cases, my clients were the commercial brand teams for specific drugs at large pharmaceutical and biotech companies. I'm originally from West Bloomfield, MI, a suburb of Detroit.
I am originally from Belgium, but I was born in Croatia. I have an undergraduate degree in molecular and cellular biology, from the university of Namur, in Belgium.
After college, I pursued a doctoral degree in biology. I started my PhD in Belgium, but got bored quickly because of limited capabilities and moved to the United States after nine months. I did most of my thesis work (seven more years) in a lab at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School. I completed the degree in May 2011.
