The SIGDOC98 hotel, Loews Le Concorde Hotel, is located on the Grand AllHe,
often called the Champs-Elysses of Quebec City. The hotel is close to all
the main attractions of the city and the rooms offer sweeping views of the
city. From the revolving restaurant atop this 30-story hotel, you'll see a
panorama of Quebec City. The hotel has two other restaurants as well as a
Health Club and a sauna. The hotel offers a special floor with added
security for women traveling alone and two other floors designed for
travelers with disabilities. It also has a luxury floor, Club 1225.
The Loews Le Concorde meeting rooms and sleeping rooms are handicap accessible. August 27, 1998: The Loews Le Concorde has informed us that they are fully booked during the week of the conference. Here are two other hotels, in approximately the same price range, that you can try calling for reservations. These hotels are about a 10 minute walk from the Loews Le Concorde:
Both hotels accept American Express, Mastercard, Visa and other credit cards. If you need to get in touch with the Loews Le Concorde Hotel, call 800 463-5256 (U.S. and Canada) or 418 647-2222 (International). |

Flying to the Conference | September 15, 1998: Air Canada strike has been settled. Air Canada (and its connectors) is SIGDOC's official air carrier. For special airfares, call 1 800 361-7585 to make your reservation. Be sure to use our registered event number CV987656. Certain rules and conditions apply. August 27, 1998: If you want to leave Quebec City on Sunday and are having difficulty getting a flight reservation out of Quebec City because of lack of availability, here is a tip from a SIGDOC attendee: "Most airlines will book "open jaw" tickets that let you fly into one airport and out from another. Thus you could fly into Quebec on non-busy Monday/Tuesday, take the train to Montreal Sunday and fly out from Montreal Sunday (getting a Saturday night stay). The train takes about three hours from Montreal and I'm told the ride is very scenic. It also costs only about $35 US (one way)." |
