MIT's Search Engine: Ultraseek

The current MIT Search Engine (Inktomi) is now documented at http://web.mit.edu/search/help/

MIT's has roughly 900 webservers hosting over 400,000 public documents, and that number is growing rapidly. For this reason, Information Systems has purchased Ultraseek, a powerful search engine to replace Harvest. The engine will index all of MIT's webservers, and will allow web publishers to restrict searching to their own pages.
