A Walk on the Beach

Midnight.
Walking along the beach.
Solitary.

Stars but no moon.

A row of houses
Lit by glaring street lights.

The ocean
Disappearing prematurely
In haze and darkness.

The sound of the water
Washing in
Wavelet by wavelet.
