PLAN FENCE PERSPECTIVE |
Outdoor Classroom A good Living laboratory should have flexibility to experiment with new things or knowledge. The concept of this project is concerned with the school curriculum which focuses on Arts and Science and can be used very effectively with the school and community. Apart from the curriculum, one important thing is how to reveal the history of the site without telling them. The answers may vary. One of the answers is to create a map on a site project, which shows what has happened to this site in the past. It will be very obvious in the beginning of the project. However, changes over time can be seen by the growth of the red maple which surround of the map boundary. Other species of trees in this nursery will be trained to be street trees in the future. The trees that are located on the Sulzberger school property are Weeping Willow. This area will be kept as open space for an outdoor classroom. Furthermore, in that particular area, students can see their school through a vista that is simply a break in the line of trees along the edge. |

PERSPECTIVE One corner of the site, shows the relationship between small trees, middle size trees and big trees. Big trees (red maple) will be transplanted along the street while some of them will remain in the nursery. Some older plants, such as weeping willows, will be used as living fences. |
