1941 Singer model 128-23, BY8-7 motor, full blackside and Godzilla
(crinkle) finish. This particular machine arrived damaged in
shipping; I've arranged it to look as it should in the picture, but
close inspection reveals the lamp and motor are broken off their
mounts, the lamp housing is broken, the wires are damaged, and the
base is split in several places.
Packing a sewing machine for safe
shipping requires more effort than you might think!
In this case, the sender forgot to tighten the set screws that
hold the machine on the base hinges. The arm was not wrapped, so
when it got free inside the case, the indestructible 30lb cast
iron arm rattled around destroying just about everything else.
The case top was also completely wrecked. Too bad; it was a
beautiful machine before going in the box.
