Hello! My name is Zhengmao Lu. I am currently a postdoctoral associate in Prof. Jeffrey Grossman's research group in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering at MIT. Previously, I did my PhD in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at MIT, advised by Prof. Evelyn Wang.
My PhD thesis has focused on fundamentally understanding liquid-gas interfacial transport with the help of micro/nanoengineering. I am currently working on creating high performace passive cooling solutions for buildings and perishable goods with novel engineered materials. My research generally focus on optimizing water and energy systems from the perspective of interfacial transport.
Manuscript co-first-authored by Zhengmao, "Turning traditionally non-wetting surfaces wetting for even ultra-high surface energy liquids", has been published in PNAS. (January 2022)
