How much is tuition for CMS?
Tuition for Academic Year 2003 will be $28,230. Living expenses are estimated to be around $15,300 for a nine month period. International students are required to show proof of funds valued at $49,480.

What about financial aid? Is it likely that I’ll be supported?
All prospective students submit the financial aid form that is included in the MIT application packet. There is no guarantee of financial support; the program considers candidates on a need-blind basis. Students who are awarded financial aid will often work at Teaching Assistants or Research Assistants. Currently, a 100% RA/TA pays full tuition, and a stipend of $14,850/year. This would be prorated depending upon the percentage of the appointment.

What is the relationship of offering a position as a TA and covering tuition? What are the duties of TA’s?
TA’s will be paid a stipend for the teaching and their tuition will be covered by the departmental area in which they are employed. Their duties will vary depending on the course, but typical duties include attending class, leading discussions sessions, and grading papers and examinations.
