During the interval, Mecha-Jean, Pattern Suhuy, Pattern Suhuy's apprentice were wandering through shadow working on variable Order. Pattern Suhuy looked up, walked a chunk of the Pattern in Mecha-Jean, then disappeared.
Ilk is stuck in protoplasmic form, and Jean is stuck in place. They explore their surroundings, and find an urban Japan. The two of them destroy Tokyo, watch the locals rebuild neo-Tokyo, and then repeat. Pattern Suhuy turns up about six months later. Just before Pattern Suhuy returned, a large lizard climbs out of the ocean to take over from Jean and Ilk.
Ilk and Jean decide to give Verra the ultimate design stage from the constantly-rebuilding neo-Tokyo, and place the iterations of monsters, frozen in carbonite, in the next shadow over.

done them much local good)

Swayville is still a major house, Jean still
controls it completely.
Swayville is still fourth in rank.
Cara has moved from 16th up to 6th.
Chanicut has moved up from 6th to 2nd.
Helgram is mostly unchanged.
House Jesby is dead.
House Barimen went up.
Nobody has refuted Barimen's claim on the head and second of the Warriors' guild.
There are a few trump blocks around Amber, and there is a magical filter around Chaos - Jenoir is reading Lanwatch dumps. There is a trump block around Suhuy's ways.
Evil Benedict is still in Amber; nobody has gone there to test him for some time. And good Benedict is in Chaos plotting and having a grand old time.
Amber city is abandoned, with the exception of an elite drinking establishment whose members have never set foot outside the place in hundreds of years. Almost ... no one who is a patron has ever left. (well there was one exception, but that was centuries ago, and that is another story in and unto itself) Very few people go in there ... I think it was 3 in the last hundred years. There are visitors, of course, those who deliver food and drink, people who bring news in from the outside and the like... but none of them every stay more than about 5-10 minutes, so they don't count. And they don't partake of the food and drink.
The Grand Benefactor has been helping out with the rebuilding of a number of the golden circle kingdoms. Few of the PCs know that person's identity, although Serena has met him once.
Vlad is in control of all of his faculties. When he takes the House Cara ring from Ilk, Ilk assumes the shape of one of their uncles, a younger brother of REN and Ilk's dad, who the House Second.
Malachai was recognized as regent of Amber, but had signed a paper putting Celeste in charge, so the regency passes to Faythe. And he hasn't gone to take back the regency, and Faythe hasn't done much with it, with the exception of acknowledging Norton (the one she is going to marry) as "Prince Consort" (the sane one, with an Ilk in his head, and the one that was bled out of Celeste, and was part of the Serpent)

Jean seems to have picked up a new friend; a trump whale. As trumpish as his fish ... though there seems to be things occasionally that show up in the whale that Jean didn't remember putting in there ...
Shiryu, Suhuy, and Savior of Chaos have been seen doing obscure things around Chaos, with Shiryu and Suhuy apparently training up the Savior of Chaos.
Benedict is back and is busily planning something against Benedict.
Verra is achieving converts left and right; she is teaching Jean obligations and rules. Jean is mostly a torc around the necks of her high priests. He is also learning spell-craft from Ilk by being that which Ilk has racked into.
Dworkin is still recovering with Verra. He hasn't reached full strength yet, and was the one who designed Jean's whale. Verra calls it an Orca, for some obscure reason, despite its sperm-whale-ish shape and size.
Andron was elevated to head of the Psionicists Guild. There was much morning for the passing of the illusionist who was head, Imagio.
Dara was spanked. Not quite yet. Plans were announced, and she has all but disappeared.
Cailin seems to have lost the potion that they used to walk over the Sea of Chance, and both of them have the Don Serioli mask.
Nobody has seen Flora in some time, not even Jean.
Cailin's experiments with true names bear interesting fruit.
Princess Chandra is mostly running the Guild; Laetatio tours with Cailin for a while, but leaves when Cailin starts experimenting with true names. And was seen in the company of Dworkin and Verra, by Jean, and he also helped with the whale design.
The Dancers that should have been released from Norton's place have been released; Rainbow decides the iffy cases; the others are meat for the beast, but with the request that they are put out of their misery, and not re-incorporated into anything sentient.
Nobody has seen Ingold since he left to erase his Pattern.
Ilk finds an abandoned promontory; it's been eaten by Sir Erik's donkey, which can no longer leave. Ilk finds Sir Erik in a bar, having a discussion with the inhabitants. He writes a note on the bill that Sir Erik is using as a weapon, "Found this in my travels; thought that you might want it back" and ties the donkey up outside. For some reason possibly connected with his lessons with Shiryu, Ilk knows that the promontory is named "Fazu". He starts trying to make nice with the promontory.
Suhuy destroys Ilk's old Home, with Ilk, Vlad, and all of the Realms Lords but Ferethyn in attendance. Melk is there as a favor to Ilk for his assistance in the past, to prevent someone from stealing a time slice of Home and examining it. Shiryu is there to over-watch the erasure. Suhuy is there to do the erasure. Marial is there to make sure that all of the contaminant is gone, and she brought her apprentice along to show that brute force can always be defeated. Savior of Chaos is there to learn from Shiryu.
Mecha-Jean, Pattern Suhuy, and his apprentice go looking for Ingold and his Pattern.

Especially since Gil has discovered that were she to walk away from the folks, she could find them by walking back to where she left them, and following the path of the spun-out Pattern Suhuy leavings, that seem to sparkle in the ground.]
