Jean found undead in some of Mikail's dungeons that were willing to play Doom with him. For some reason, after about the third dungeon that he came across, the undead have been welcoming him, opening their doors to him, and treating him as a local deity. It's really boring. Verra does not have an explanation for the change in behavior.
Pattern Suhuy didn't receive an invitation to the party, so his apprentice reluctantly sends his regrets.
Neville has been playing extensively with Gwen's reality engine.
People are gathering in Chaos in preparation for the party, waiting for the correct turning.
[Norton knows what time it is in Chaos. "Hey Celeste! What time is it?" "Shut up!"]
Cassandra is changing in the Warriors' Guild before her party when there is a tap on the door. Rainbow pokes his head through the door and apologizes, saying that he'll be late to the party due to the need to take some political actions that will not be directed against her or the Mages' Guild. Benedict passed a sword blade through Rainbow's midsection on his way in and said, "Tag". Rainbow leaves to apologize to Corwin as well.
There is another tap on Cassandra's door. She opens it. It's Laura, the warlord's apprentice. The little girl says that the warlord said that Cassandra was a good role model so she should follow Cassandra around and emulate her.
When Cassandra tries to get the warlord's apprentice to change for the party, she realizes that the Laura is very good at concealing weapons -- she doesn't look like she's armed. The girl doesn't hold the weapons when she pulls them out like she knows how to use them.
The warlord said that she had to deal with the people pouring in through the windows of their room, and then pushed her out the secret exit. As far as Cassandra can tell, someone invaded the Warlord's residence about twenty minutes ago.
Cassandra goes next door to tell to her father about the invasion. Corwin is drinking something out of an old bottle.
Corwin offers his daughter a sip of what he is drinking. The drink seems to be shaping her receptors for maximal enjoyment as it rolls down her throat. Corwin says that Malachai is changing down the hall with Serena, and will not be offered the drink.
Corwin says that he will tell his brother, and Cassandra returns to continue changing.
The Ilks have noticed that when talking with Shiryu, only the one or ones being talked to can hear either end of the exchange. Occasionally Shiryu has had two conversations at once with either of them.
The Savior of Chaos, the Logrus Master, and the Realms Master are currently standing at the edge of the Abyss discussing the markedly slower than normal return of the demons to their usual habitats when the local Benedict walks up. He gives a salute that approximates the greeting from a guild member to a Realms Lord and waits for their attention.
Benedict informs them that one of their company is in duress... under attack - the Warlord. From his expression, he is extremely eager to go play, but doesn't want to step on anyone's toes by doing so. Shiryu decides that the Savior of Chaos should go there with Benedict to check it out.
Savior of Chaos tendris out and takes Benedict to the Warlord's residence. There are warriors lined up coming out of a rift and there are bodies pouring out of the residence.
Ilk takes Benedict for a quick tour along the lines of attack so he can decide where he would do the most good. Benedict kills the warriors as they progress, and is adapting himself perfectly to the rate at which Ilk travels. Ilk accelerates constantly throughout the tour; Benedict keeps up with the pace.
Once they are done, Ilk deposits Benedict at his chosen spot. The place Benedict picked is causing chaos all up and down the line.
Ilk goes in search of Marial, and finds her in the sleeping chamber. She has obviously lost her primary weapons because she's occasionally breaking weapons and taking them from the fallen bodies.
She has a few cuts, and is grinning like a demon. While plowing through the attackers she is composing a note to the other Realms Lords informing them of her situation. Ilk politely clears his nonexistent throat.
"Savior of Chaos?"
"Yes."
"That sounded like your style. Did the Realms Lords receive my note?"
"No - we got a request from Benedict, who wanted to join in the fun. He's at that corner."
"I was wondering about the change in their pattern."
Marial asks Ilk if someone could look into the source of the attackers -- it's fun, but there's a party to attend.
"Suhuy", who has been watching, mentions this to the Realms Master. Shiryu asks the Logrus Master to take them there, and he does so. Shiryu looks at the rift, gets a cock-eyed grin on his face, and causes a wall to grow up just on this side of the rift. For a few moments, the wall vibrates, and then thickens and stabilizes. The Savior of Chaos bows in admiration to the Realms Master.
After a few moments, Benedict walks over, looks at the wall, and sighs.
"We do have a party to attend", Ilk responds apologetically.
Benedict looks down at himself. Not a drop of blood on it. "Well, I'm still good."
Marial has the rest of the people staked out by their own weapons in her house for later interrogation. She looks down at herself and sighs. "I'm getting sloppy." She's covered in gore. It's apparently much bloodier to stake them up than to just kill them. She speculates about retiring, then glances at her replacement and quiets down. She asks after her apprentice, and is told by Benedict that she is with Cassandra.
Savior of Chaos offers to Logrus-clean Marial, and does so. She goes back inside to acquire new clothing.
