Activities Around Chaos

Princess Chandra is stepping up her activity against Bronelle, the head of the Poisoners' Guild.

Helgram has built a wall around the pit in their living room.

Yuri was stuck with the task of building a party space near House Cara by hauling mountains out of shadow for building material.

Ilk and Vlad had made significant progress on rebuilding Home.

["...the Ilk collective." "I've never heard you refer to it as a collective before." "They're more of a commune, really... damn hippy Logrus-masters."]

Somebody sent House Cara a rather large docking bill for a boat with a large star-core attached to it. Moving the boat is listed as an alternate means of payment.

House Barimen has sent House Norton... err... House Hendrake a missive asking for a meeting to discuss Norton and Faythe's status as possible members of House Barimen. Norton and the head Ilk discuss the situation, and Norton decides to trump the Amberites and ask them for their opinions. Norton considers building a Trump fuse. Ilk looks for advice from REN, but neither he nor Jean can find him.

Cassandra is receiving a trump call. It's Darkstar. He apologizes for not attending her party, but it was in a place that he found less than ideal.

Darkstar says that he's been hanging out with Laetatio for a while -- "... he's an excellent conductor."

"Did he annoy you?", replies the musically ignorant Cassandra.

The conversation devolves oddly.

Darkstar asks if she would mind him inviting Tate to Pearl for a trump experiment.

Norton Trumps the Amberites

Cassandra gets a trump call. It's from Norton.

"I'm conducting a poll."

"What?!"

He asks Cassandra about the House Barimen thing. She says that House Barimen has no authority over her, and says that she would take offense if they claimed such. He asks her if she would like to ask Malachai if he would like the regency of Amber back.

They talk about trumping the other Amberites. Norton considers building a list.

Benedict - no contact

Corwin - contact. Corwin says that he was advised not to take a position because it might start a war or worse. However, unofficially, he finds Barimen's position reprehensible, but would have to check with his guildmaster before joining the fight.

Norton considers trumping Dworkin. Ilk tells Norton that Dworkin was never a member of the House -- it was Oberon who joined Barimen.

Norton checks with the etiquette guild. There was an official falling out between Barimen and Oberon. Oberon claims he was thrown out; Barimen claims otherwise. Norton checks with Jean who checks with the Dancers Guild. Jean is told that nothing formal was published, and is told to tell Norton.

Norton trumps Caine. Caine is currently standing in a pub, on someone's head, while drinking from a mug and fighting off someone who is attacking him.

"Is this a bad time for a poll?"

Norton asks Caine for his opinion regarding the Barimen thing.

"Barimen claims me? I should go for a visit!" Caine drops the connection.

Norton tries to trump Llewella and fails.

Norton tries to trump Flora and fails.

Norton considers trumping Gerard and tries. He has too much good stuff to succeed.

Norton tries Zack and succeeds. Zack says that he hasn't had much luck finding out what his fellow Amberites think. He says that he seems to be the only person scheming against the evil Benedict, and is told that there are plans in the works. Zack is also told that Auricle is looking for him. Zack asks Norton to confirm his status as vice-everything. Norton checks with Faythe, and is told to leave him put.

Norton tries to trump Martin. He hits a trump block, and Celeste starts pushing reflexively. They get through.

"Help me!" Norton pulls Martin through. Martin falls at Norton's feet. "I'm free!"

Norton calls over Renfield and offers Martin food and rooms. Martin asks Norton for Ilkandacian's location, and claims that Ilk left him in Rebma.

Norton realizes that he has left his gargoyles on the roof of Amber for five and a half years.

[The gargoyles are now playing Benedict's theme music, very well]

Norton tries to trump Velaria. She's refusing trump calls. Norton asks Celeste to pass her a note. Celeste pushes, there is a small magical explosion, and then Velaria is no longer accepting trump calls. "That's not a note!"

Norton hopes that nobody will notice.

Norton trumps Laetatio. He's in the middle of conducting. Norton goes thorough the usual spiel. Tate thinks that his mother, Princess Chandra, would object to House Barimen claiming him as a member.

Norton trumps Cailin. As Cailin takes the call, another corpse is being dragged off. Cailin says that it's nothing to worry about, just a local shadow thing relating to his experiments. Norton gives Cailin the spiel. Cailin is put down for an "aaargh!". Cailin considers telling his grandmother.

Norton tries Talos. He's at a formal party. Norton asks Talos of his opinion regarding House Barimen. Talos says that the only Amberite thing he knows is that he is Random's permanently youngest son. Talos puts a hand on Jackie's shoulder, pulling her into the contact. Norton gives the spiel. "As I told my mother, I want nothing to do with you folks." Jackie thinks that this is a scheme of Flora's.

Norton passes through a card. "If you want a good psychiatrist..."

Jackie pulls away from Talos's hand. Norton and Jackie chat for a while

Norton is horrified when he notices Mikail's trump in the deck. Norton and Ilk discuss the hunt for Mikail, and decide not to trump him yet and lose the element of surprise.

Norton asks Jean about his opinion on Amberites being an offshoot of House Barimen. "I'm not."

Norton trumps Merlin, and fails. [Norton hasn't had time to track down Merlin yet]

Norton trumps Cathryne, and fails.

Norton tries Shannon Mirelle. He introduces himself. Shannon says that her mother is not happy with her father. She doesn't know much of anything about Amberite politics; she's a member of the royal family of Cobalt. The Spiral is recovering nicely; it's been 300 years. Dana has stepped down. They're not sure where she is -- she might have passed on. Natasha is missing; she disappeared when everyone left. Norton realizes that he left her making exploding corn dogs in Amber and waiting for him. When Norton mentions Chaos, Shannon asks how Cyndia is doing. Norton drops the contact and trumps Corwin. Cyndia has reached journeyman status. Norton checks with him about talking to Princess Chandra; Corwin advises him to be polite.

Norton trumps Shannon back and tells her about Cyndia. Shannon tells Norton that he is held in high esteem in Cobalt, and asks for a picture of Benedict. Ilk in Norton conjures an action pose of Benedict fighting the hordes invading Marial's place. Shannon tells Norton that she has received permission to come visit, and that if she does so, Vialle might want to bring a complaint against Random to him.

Norton holds a seance to contact Damiana. Damiana is having sex with one of her grandchildren when she is sucked into a crystal ball. She is less than pleased. Norton tries the spiel, and is told that Oberon's wishes should be honored. Damiana is delighted to hear that Celeste is dead.

Norton tries Ingold and fails. Celeste is very weirded out by that, but isn't sure why.

Norton tries Sir Erik, who is still in the party. Sir Erik ask if giving them the donkey would pay his House dues. Sir Erik respects Corwin's opinion, thinks that war is good, and will vote with Corwin. If Corwin abstains, he'll vote opposite of Benedict.

Norton trumps Cassandra. He asks her what is the proper way to pose a question to Princess Chandra. Norton writes it all down and hands it to Cassandra, who takes the note to her Master. Princess Chandra says that since the higher House claims the line, Laetatio and any of his get are in her House, not Barimen.

[Note - etiquette guild members will be working overtime on this one]

Cassandra asks Princess Chandra if this effects her position any. Princess Chandra offers to adopt Cassandra into her house. When Cassandra says that she is in her father's house, Princess Chandra offers to adopt him, too.

Janus is unreachable.

Gil is on the yellow brick road with the Pattern Suhuy mob. Gil asks what her father or father's father wanted, and when told that neither of them were contactable, says that she will vote with Cassandra. Norton asks Gil if she was able to contact any of the Amberites that he couldn't contact.

Norton considers trumping himself. Celeste walks across the room in his head, smacks him, and walks back.

Norton trumps Auricle. When told that they had just talked to Zack, she demands transit to his location. Auricle is pulled through, and then passes to Zack, who is trying to be stealthy.

Norton trumps Raven. Raven is sitting on the gunnel of a boat. They talk for a while. Raven is annoyed that Caine went off without him, and orders his crew to sail faster. He tells Norton that he has a Logrus blade for Cassandra.

"We've found a source... unfortunately, we can only borrow them, not keep them."

Norton trumps Cassandra again and tells her about the blade. She is delighted, and borrows trumps of Raven and Norton.

Norton and the Ilk in his head are amused to find Neville in Norton's trump deck.

Norton asks Cassandra if she could contact Darkstar for him so he could trump someone he left behind. She suggests Laetatio. Norton trumps Laetatio. Tate can't draw a trump of Natasha because he's never met her.

Norton reaches out to his pig in Amber, but fails.

Cailin Becomes Head of House Moonlight

Cailin continues his experimentation.

Cassandra trumps Raven. He's entering a bar filled with corpses and is swearing under his breath - he missed his father's swaree.

Cassandra starts pulling Raven through, then stops, realizing that it might cause a boom. Raven decides to come there physically, and asks that word be left at the Assassins' Guild that he be allowed to enter.

After a while, Cailin trumps to the gym in the Assassins' Guild. He walks into his grandmother's office, and spots Princess Chandra and Cassandra. Cailin tells them that something was taken from his person, and that the person who took it is being un-cooperative. Princess Chandra agrees to ask Jenoir to look into it.

Princess Chandra tells Cailin that he is now a member of her House. It's only a few minutes old, but it's a major House, and Cailin is in it. She offers to make him the head of House Moonlight - too many duties for her taste. It's either him or his father, and she thinks that he's a bit more responsible. Cailin accepts.

Norton plans to go talk to Random.
