One of the Cailins was apparently turned into a small grey marble. He seeks Cassandra's aid. Cailin believes that the person most likely involved is Jenoir.
It was done on Princess Chandra's doorstep. Princess Chandra asks Cassandra to ask a certain gentleman that she will be seeing later this evening to call upon her.
Cassandra heads towards her rooms after the conference. On the way there, one of the journeymen in the guild approaches her and says that someone is at the door asking for her. The person described is unknown to her. She heads to the door, keeping the journeyman as escort. The person at the door is in House Barimen colors.
He asks after her House allegiances. He is annoying and insists that the House needs to release her. Cassandra starts to giggle. She tells him to go talk to her father first. He walks off. There is a flash of light, and there is a little grey marble resting on the sand.
Cailin accompanies Princess Chandra. She pours something out of an apocathary into an unadorned bowl, blows across it, and continues through a ritualized set of motions. Cailin can tell that not all of the ritual is magical power. Eventually, the bowl clears and a face appears. It's Ferethyn. It's an answering machine. "I am Princess Chandra. I request and require the attention of the Realms Mage at his earliest convenience." She goes through another ritual, and the liquid pours back into the jar.
Cassandra returns to Princess Chandra's presence and tells her of the visit from House Barimen. Princess Chandra is annoyed that they did not stop by to pay their respects to the head of House Moonlight. A wall sconce is sent off to deal with the matter, and the journeyman who notified Cassandra of the visitor is called in to bear witness to the slight and the subsequent disappearance. Cailin states that he would like to retrieve and experiment with the resulting marble.
A small man dressed in Sith regimentals walks back into the Guild hall, carrying a small bag. Inside are two grey marbles. He found them in front, and also saw a gate that was opened to his favorite recreational area. He did not pass through it.
Princess Chandra and Cassandra discuss the possible means of responding to the slight, and decide to register a complaint and challenge with the Etiquette Guild.
Cassandra pulls out a compact to notify Lord Talos to be careful in his approach, but fails to get through.
Osric is attempting to acquire alarms to warn him of people tampering with his Fringe gates.
Verra informs Jean that she has to go become unavailable for a while, and asks him to hold down the shop. Jean tells Verra about the unpopulated Golden Circle kingdoms, and she tells him that migrations could be arranged for in case of famines.
Cailin turns rocks into Mulders and sends them off into the trapped areas. They each disappear in a flash, leaving behind a small marble.
A sending of Ferethyn appears in front of the Savior of Chaos, Shiryu, and Suhuy and tells them that he is about to go visit Princess Chandra.
Ferethyn shows up near Princess Chandra, announces that the effect is not magical in nature, and leaves. He shows up in front of the other Realms Lords, says something to Shiryu, and Shiryu leaves.
Shiryu appears near the entrance to the Assassins' Guild, climbs the doorway, and becomes unnoticable.
There is an explosion on the Paths of the Dead, and two people are standing near Jean.
"I'm going to have to ask you to step into this whale..."
Jean feels ucky and reaches for an anti-Logrus tab in his spell rack. He fails to find one, and fishes Ilk-as-Yuri in. Ilk notices that there are two denizens of Chaos poking Logrus tendrils at Jean, and knots the tendrils back upon themselves. The intruders appear disturbed by this, and start unracking spells. Ilk grounds the spells; Jean doesn't even notice the attempted attack. They start getting desperate.
Ilk notices that they are in House Barimen colors and cranks up a voder inside the fish's mouth. "WHO DARES TO DISTURB THE PROPHET OF VERRA!"
They start drawing a defensive circle. Ilk disrupts it. Jean complains. "Hey - don't draw on the floor here!"
One person places the second in suspended animation, and then tries to kill himself. Jean mind-fries the attempted suicide and buds into him.
Jean learns that the two were minding their own business when someone who looked like Caine came in and demanded to know who was attempting to usurp his birthright. They tried to stop him, and ended up here.
Ilk places the one in suspended animation under his own stasis spell, labeling the off switch, "Verra - push to interrogate intruder".
Jean fishes "Yuri" back to Chaos.
Verra shows up in one of the Golden Circle kingdoms that is empty except for Neville. They discuss populating this shadow.
"Rainbow... funny guy... has a tendency to pull wings off chickens..."
They discuss cosmology. Neville tries to convince Verra of the reality of Amber and the obligations of the Golden Circle to Amber.
Verra leaves Neville a statue and departs.
Neville finds out that this kingdom owed Amber bread and unprocessed wheat, writes it up, and places the note under the statue.
Just as Jean has finished cleaning up, three more members of House Barimen appear. Jean mind-wipes them and buds into them. These tried to stop Caine, too.
Verra shows up, looks at them, and says, "Importing?"
"Tidying up. Do you remember Caine?"
"Guy with a Logrus blade?"
...
Verra spits out several curses in Thari involving Caine. "That Caine?"
"Yup."
"He's the one that I fought for this place."
Verra tells Jean that they want to bring their religion to Amber. Jean starts importing missionaries.
Jean explains the intrusions to Verra. Verra un-stasises the package and takes over the mind of the intruder, then offers Jean the body.
Verra has Jean missionary House Barimen as well. Jean spots Raven hanging out by the gates. They chat. Raven warns Jean that Caine is in a bad mood. Jean instructs the missionaries to flee Caine, and to not clean up the corpses.
Jean and Raven make an agreement to have Raven's ships carry missionaries from Verra that will act as advance scouts for his fleets.
Jean sends a blucited person into Amber as a decoy with a voder to the real missionary. Evil Benedict tries to slice the blucited decoy up, fails, and then launches it into the ocean with some white exploding powder.
Jean continues sending blucited decoys into Amber.
Ilk notices Bronelle stealthily approaching the power source that they are studying. He sends a note to Princess Chandra informing her of the situation.
A note appears in front of Princess Chandra, Cassandra, and Cailin. Princess Chandra whips out an assassin and has it pick up the note. She reads the note and then hands it to Cassandra. "I believe that this is yours."
Ilk and Cassandra chat, and Cassandra tells Ilk where she would like to be delivered in relation to Bronelle and the power source. Ilk and Suhuy play hot potato, Logrus-pulling the Pattern-laced Cassandra across reality.
Cassandra observes Bronelle carefully, examining her for weaknesses. She'll have to come up with something more elaborate than a simple charge.
When Bronelle gets within range of the power source, there is a flash of the power source being tapped, and Bronelle is translocated elsewhere.
Ilk returns Cassandra to the Assassins' Guild. While doing so, he notices that there is a pool of the power that he was studying right in front of the door to the Assassins' Guild. Ilk creates a voder and tells the assembled group.
Princess Chandra declares that they seem to be in open feud, and asks Cassandra if her ally could mark off the area. Cassandra looks inquisitively at thin air.
Ilk responds. "White picket fence? Wall?"
Ilk ends up surrounding the pool with savior of chaos tape.
