Associations between "Logrus bombs" -> reality seeds -> new universes -> multiple pages comprising grey spheres and possibly marbles as well. Universes defined to be hungry, the extra pages keeping them from consuming the page that they're in.
Information/speculations relayed from Savior of Chaos and Suhuy directly to Ferethyn and indirectly to Melk and Shiryu.
Cailin asks Jenoir for a way out of the wards. She hangs a pendant around his neck that is absorbed into his flesh. He walks through the wards, and gates to a location just outside the Assassins' Guild, where Jean's minions are trying to relocate marbles with shovels. Cailin orders the minions around a bit before remembering that they're Jean's.
Cailin enters the guild building and finds Natasha standing with a healer in House Xartys colors. Natasha is in labor. When asked if she can do anything for the pain, the healer says that Natasha isn't a shapeshifter, and is frustrated and confused by that.
Cailin numbs the pain, and the healer reaches into Natasha and pulls out the baby. Natasha is unconscious; Cailin and the healer try to figure out what is going on. The baby looks kind of like Cailin.
Cailin wakes Natasha with some smelling salts. Natasha complains about still being full; the healer reaches in and scoops out the afterbirth. They chat. Natasha claims that Cailin gets to bear the next child so she can go off and save the universe. The baby is named Kieron. They discuss sending word to Cobalt.
Osric thrashes. He sticks an arm out, and it hurts a lot. He realizes that he can use Fringe energy inside of himself, so opens a Fringe gate inside himself and pours himself through it. Osric finds himself in the exact center of one of the big roads on the Fringe. As he steps away, there is a small black speck where he was standing that is in the metal. He tries to scratch it off, but it's part of the metal itself, not on the surface. It's about the size of the tip of a fork tine. He goes to the center of another road, and doesn't see any marks.
He logs into a computer, records the location of the dot, and starts setting up sensors. The sensors cannot penetrate the surface of the Fringe metal to determine the composition of the black dot. Osric checks out the underside of the road. The dot is on the bottom of the road as well.
He sets up cameras to watch both dots, record, and notify him if anything changes.
Osric returns to his base and checks in on Johnny. Johnny is trying to work out a communications system using the Fringe sphere.
Princess Chandra receives the note, sighs, looks at the Crafter and the Philosopher, and says that she must attend to family matters. She is fished to Cailin's gate, where she disembarks, pats the fish on the head, and steps through the gate. The fish goes off for a lie down.
Princess Chandra arrives with Cailin and Natasha. She takes the baby and plays with it for a while, then takes Cailin into the Guild and tells him that a baby wouldn't be best for Guild morale. She suggests asking Rainbow, as he did a good job with Jean. Natasha and Cailin consider building House Moonlight, and Princess Chandra confirms that they have a place to build. They decide to place the baby in Princess Chandra's care; Natasha acceded to the plan after Princess Chandra whispers into her ear a description of those gathered in the meeting.
Princess Chandra carries the baby into the meeting through the wards. Qrelon makes a perfectly fitting baby snuggly that grows and shifts with the baby, is invincible against everything, feeds on baby waste products, and radiates petted small critter vibes to everything nearby.
Natasha and Cailin discuss the proper use of the marbles and House construction. Jean offers some tanks for the effort. Cailin plays with marbles. A blarney stone true-named into a mage and forced to touch a marble turns into a marble with a blarney stone true name. Cailin's other blarney stone also turned into a marble, as did the one in the mages' chambers. Cailin true-names something else into a blarney stone and it immediately becomes a marble.
When they arrive at the site, there is a small cottage there. He tries to open the door, and he fails. It's locked magically with his signature. He studies it a bit, and figures out how to unseal the door. It's almost visually indistinguishable from his normal method of opening a door.
There are three rooms, a kitchen, a bedroom, and a sitting room, none furnished. There's a very interesting color light coming through the bedroom window that doesn't match the sky over Chaos at the moment, and there is only the one outer door.
Natasha's idea of furnishings and architecture are determined to be inadequate and circus-oriented, but she builds an amphitheater arching over the cottage. On the order of about a thousand Jean tanks go around the amphitheater and dig in, and a moat is dug around the tanks, with plans to fill it with marbles.
