Cailin plays in the X-Files shadow. There seems to be a plague of microscopic locusts. He goes to Chaos and leaves a note for Princess Chandra, then returns to Amber.

Neville Finds Trouble in House Helgram (and an Unwanted God, Too)

Neville is in his closet with his nine knives... although one is bastard-sword sized, and the others have reached the approximate size of a gladius. He checks out the bedroom - it's thoroughly booby-trapped. None of the traps really bother him - Chaosian-targeted traps don't generally affect someone in Pattern armor. He leaves the eight smaller knives behind and reaches through his trump to Hamster Gerard. They talk about shipping forces from Amber.

Neville writes a note to Caine and passes it through the trump taken off his House Head. Notes are exchanged, and Caine trumps Neville. They chat - Caine can contact the King, and would like to help assault House Helgram. Caine doesn't want Amberite troops, but offers the help of the Warriors' Guild. Neville pulls Caine through, and replaces his bed with the reality engine.

Caine opens the door from Neville's rooms into the hallway, looks around, and closes the door. He concentrates a bit, and a Pattern blade appears. He opens the door and sticks the Pattern blade out. Lots of attacks converge on the blade.

[Somewhere across reality, Martin notices that Werewindle is missing]

Caine stabs one attacker. Neville asks Caine to make examples of them. Caine pulls a few marbles and flicks them at attackers, who melt.

Neville yells at Caine, who picks his blade back up and starts scorching attackers with the flat of the blade.

Neville tries to talk. The attackers are just going through set motions - they aren't being creative. Neville says that they should just walk past. Caine does so.

On their way to the Helgramite council chambers, Neville sees a member of his House look relieved and vanish.

A minor functionary approaches and says that there is a cadre of Warriors outside looking for their Guild Second. They are set up in a side room.

Neville opens the door to the council chambers. There are sacrifices being conducted around the room. There is a green, glowing, god-like thing in the center of the room. Most of the people in the room are not members of the Helgramite ruling council.

Neville heads towards the living room. Caine suggests they acquire a contingent of mages. Caine says that Julian was more of an esotericist than they thought, and Benedict told him not to trust Julian.

There has been a big hole neatly cut in the wall around the garbage disposal from the outside. Both of the guards stationed in the room have died recently in interesting ways.

Caine trumps Cailin. Cailin takes the contact, thinking that it's Laetatio. They chat. Cailin hands through Kieron and Natasha and follows himself.

Neville reinforces and rebuilds the wall. There's lots of graffiti on the inside of the wall.

They head back towards the council chambers.

When they reach the door, they can notice a palpable pressure in front of the wall - they are entering into the presence of a well-worshiped god.

Neville sends someone out for a Jean. A bunch of fudge-sicles march in and start worshiping Jean. Neville tells Verra via Jean that there is a god here and that he'd like to sacrifice it to her as payment for her transport, but he doesn't know how.

Verra fishes in, and licks her chops in anticipation of a good meal.

Forces: Verra, several Jean gun ships, Cailin, Natasha, Kieron, Caine, and Neville.

Neville considers finding Jenoir.
