Major Events:

Characters represented by players at this run: Cailin, Ilk, Jean, Neville, Norton and Osric.

Birds?

Jean notices that people everywhere are commenting about the lack of birds. He works his way down a checklist on the advice of the Dancers' Guild, and determines that creeping and crawling things are also missing. Jean tells Ilk in the tree; Ilk experiments. The few remaining birds are vanishing. Ilk collects the rest of them into two places, one real and one shadow. Neither set of birds vanishes. Ilk moves one bird somewhere else. The rest of the birds in shadow disappears, along with the entire shadow.

Snarsht is notified of the problem.

Norton Kills Mikail; Shiryu Acquires Mikail's Soul

Jean and Osric flee the oncoming wave of marbles. Cailin teleports to the highest level of the tower in Darkover.

Norton and Faythe appear in the room where Mikail is controlling everything. Faythe is currently being beset by all sorts of things that are attacking her, including hung spells and poison. Faythe, who is currently the mistress of Darkover, is beset but battling.

Mikail is looking at all of the undead in the room, including Norton, and exclaiming, "Why aren't you obeying me?!" Mikail tries to wrest control of the undead from Norton. Norton is trying to embrace Mikail.

Half-way across the piece of fruit, Ilk feels the pull of a familiar beastmaster calling towards him. He heads there at high speed. Ilk maps out the a number of the slowly-exploding Logrus-bomb power sources en-route and detonates them all simultaneously.

Faythe, all of a sudden, gets better.

Ilk tears the top of the tower off. There is Faythe, surrounded by a pillar of blue flame. There is Norton, looking distracted. There is Mikail, looking very unhappy.

Ilk notices two grey spheres and two powder-white spheres sitting on a small, cushioned table. The dragon reaches into the tower, yoinks the table and spheres, and heads out. Ilk throws the table and spheres into the Sea of Chance. The red-headed fisher-lady looks up at the spheres as they pass overhead and comments, "Why are you throwing things into the Sea?"

Cailin fails to turn into a roc -- he turns into Mothra.

Norton is lunging towards Mikail, crying out, "You do shoddy work!" Mikail has pulled a nasty blade and is trying to beat Norton off with it, crying out, "It's silver! It's supposed to work!"

Osric sees a dragon rip the top off a tower, grab something, and toss it into the Sea of Chance. He ignores the dragon, grows leathery wings, and heads towards the tower.

Norton sees Osric's base form, with giant wings, heading towards him. There are lightnings and clouds of dust attacking Osric. Osric raises Fringe shields and continues. Osric shields Faythe as well. Mikail is the only other living thing in the room.

Osric starts growing a layer of Fringe energy up the edges of Mikail, leaving the neck exposed for Norton's drinking pleasure.

Ilk and Norton, being Chaosian, notice that Mikail is still moving inside his armor. Ilk asks Kieron to cast the demon-melt spell that he designed for Galleon and Swift Edges over that-away.

The dragon opens its mouth as if to breath fire, revealing a small boy standing inside, who starts singing. The boy stops, says, "That's not pretty enough", and starts singing in free-form lyric poetry. Not just those specific demons are melting; lots of things are melting.

Mikail is now completely naked. His sword is gone too.

Osric tries to shield Mikail from Norton and his power to keep him alive for later interrogation.

Mikail blinks across the room and out of Osric's shields before they are complete. Osric then succeeds in englobing Mikail, chopping several undead in half. Norton shifts into a large cat and starts batting the sphere around.

Ilk leaves the area and starts blowing up all of the power sources he can find, including the one that the fishing redhead was sitting on. [She had moved somewhere else.]

Osric passes Mikail a pen and tries to start the interrogation.

Norton notices that the undead all across this piece of fruit are powering down and falling over.

At the heart of this piece of fruit, Ilk notices the beginnings of an unraveling and investigates it. The unravel was designed into the place, set into motion, and then paused. Ilk determines that he needs some mages. Kieron doesn't have the experience -- it's time to get Cailin.

Cailin is just changing his shape back when he is eaten by a giant dragon.

Norton tries to acquire the other him in order to double his power.

Somewhere in Vanir's Wrath, a crypt opens, and an undead Norton, carrying a mostly-raised dead King Laetatio, walks out.

Osric englobes Norton and merges the spheres.

The other undead Norton, carrying King Laetatio, heads into one of Verra's temples and spots a Jean. Jean whales Norton and King Laetatio back to the boba-Jean in the fruit with the Mikail battle.

Norton makes an undead thing to touch a marble. It turns into a marble as well. Norton decides that he doesn't like the marbles and that they need to go away. Jean and the undead Norton chat, and then head out looking for trouble.

Kieron and Cailin are standing on a curdled spot in mid-air holding Mikail's self-destruct spell in place by sheer power, while Kieron works on verses to reverse it.

Ilk bugs out and asks Jean to tell Ilk to tell Shiryu of another instance of that spell.

Norton and boba-Jean arrive on-scene. Norton looks at Norton trying to embrace Mikail. Mikail is bleeding, but hasn't been embraced yet. Norton asks Osric to pass him through the sphere as well.

The new Norton beastmasters Mikail's blood into things to attack him. Norton tries to get the blood in Mikail's body, and fails. Mikail has been shapeshifting a lot.

Norton floods the sphere with shapeshifter virus. Mikail melts. A plain, unadorned gold ring falls to the bottom of the sphere.

While everyone was busy, Faythe wandered over and casually rested a hand on King Laetatio's shoulder. Neither of them are doing very well now.

King Osric complains that he wanted to ask Mikail some questions first.

Norton can't reach Mikail's soul. There is nothing left of Mikail that could be reassembled. Both Nortons fall over laughing hysterically.

Norton asks his head Ilk to look at the ring. He doesn't want to look at the ring -- it's one of those anti-Logrus things. Norton tries to whack the ring with the squeaky-hammer, with minimal success.

Boba-Jean comes through with the variable Pattern hammer and whacks on the ring until it becomes a flattened disc, like a poker chip.

Osric takes the disc, claiming that he'll throw it off the edge of the Fringe. Whether or not he does so, well,...

King Laetatio clears his throat, looks around, carefully picks Faythe up, kicks a few zombies out of his way, and sets her way down on someplace soft.

Norton starts pounding on the inside of the sphere. "Let me out!" Osric lets Norton out.

Ilk in Norton updates Ilk.

Norton makes a pair of goggles and looks for Mikail's soul. Norton makes a live thing, kills it, and tries to see the soul with his goggles. He fails. He takes off the goggles, and can now see the soul. Norton looks around normally, and looks for the soul. He can't see it.

Norton goes into the sphere and looks for the soul. It's still in the sphere.

Shiryu shows up, looks at Norton, and says, "There are two of you." Norton claims that it is just a figment of his imagination. Shiryu seems to buy the story.

Norton claims that the one Shiryu was mad at went splut. Shiryu is pleased. Osric shows off the englobed soul. Shiryu takes it from him, much to Osric's dismay.

Shiryu is told that Cailin and Kieron have been working on stopping the unravel. He goes there, takes over, and dismisses Cailin and Kieron.

Ilk notices that the woman has fished the table and the grey spheres back out of the sea. She seems to be using raw god power.

Norton introduces King Laetatio to Cailin. Cailin is disturbed. Norton claims that he brought back King Laetatio because that resurrection wasn't in the book.

Ilk tells Verra about the redheaded goddess. She sends Jean over, after Ilk mentions that it might be a trap.

Jean goes over to chat. The redheaded goddess says that she was the only one here before Mikail showed up. Jean tells Verra. Verra tells him not to spoil her. Jean thanks the redheaded goddess and moves along. Ilk asks for the grey spheres. "You threw them away. I found them. They're mine now." "Okay."

Cailin breaks his son. "Don't touch anything that is round."

Kieron hands the box to his father. Cailin notices that the box he is holding in his hands is more real than anything he has ever held before, including the Jewel of Judgment. Kieron tries to explain the origins of the box.

"The Serpent... that which is the end of everything. My babysitter!"

Cailin insists that he must talk to Princess Chandra right now. Kieron chants a rhyme and Princess Chandra appears.

Princess Chandra has gone down to one knee in front of Kieron. "Aren't you supposed to be being babysat?"

Cailin introduces Princess Chandra to King Laetatio. Norton is informed that Princess Chandra killed the G-person.

Princess Chandra leaves and takes Kieron with her.

Ilk in Norton suggests to Cailin that he ask Shiryu about the marbles.

Cailin gates to Shiryu and asks him what to do with the marbles. Shiryu suggests storing them in this reality, and points out the fishing lady as the owner of this piece of fruit. Cailin heads down to talk to her. Jean intercepts him, and tells him that Verra wants to keep the lady untainted.

Osric, Cailin, and Ilk discuss the disposition of the marbles.

Ilk hands Jean in the tree a book describing the marbles and spheres to give to Shiryu. Jean fishes it to Shiryu. Shiryu glances at the book, thumbs through it, reads a few pages, flips back a bit, reads some more, flips again, reads a bit more, then turns back to the beginning of the book and starts to concentrate on the book. He briefly turns his attention towards Jean.

"You should all leave this place. It is about to be cast adrift."

Shiryu reaches out, grabs Osric's Fringe wall, and drags it across Darkover, pushing all of the marbles before it, but missing the tower, and stops the wall on this side of the reality.

The people on the island evacuate to Darkover. Those who are watching see the island drift off and disappear.
