Playing with the Reality Engine in Pride's Folly

Jean has been thinking about coalescing the un-alive power. Titania says that she is Faerie, Faerie is her, and it moves with her.

Cailin makes a gate from Gwen's lab back to one of Jean's grey zone shadows. Jean starts redirecting his newly bodies through the gate. Cailin fills up magically to 85%, and considers ways of passing excess magic through to our reality. He makes a pair of socks for the mage who fixed the moon and a pair of earrings for Amaranth, dropping to 50%. Jean delivers the presents, which are much appreciated.

The dragon pokes Cailin on his shoulder and points out a mist slowly coalescing behind Johnny. Cailin starts draining the misty thing, which Johnny claims isn't a defense in the computer -- it's an external defense. Cailin chats with Titania briefly, then Titania pulls it into his head. Cailin takes a nap and finds himself with Titania in the grey room with a table. Titania starts extracting the thing from his head, then Cailin wakes up.

Johnny asks for something real to sacrifice -- the machine is trying to erase them, and it would be easier to convince it that the pebble is them. Jean fishes a pebble in from Chaos, and then Johnny pushes himself back from the terminal, the pebble disappears in a flash, and various people in the room wince.

Johnny has figured out that the coalescing thing is a terminal guardian.

A little while later, everybody in the lab turns bright blue. "Hey -- you got an account!" Jean provides an example and is returned to his normal color. Mandor provides color swatches. Cailin and the dragon are still blue. Johnny enables shape-shifting. Cailin turns into a blue yeti, then back into a blue him. Sigh. Johnny plays with his account. Eventually, Cailin's colors are restored. The color scheme holds over to the yeti. Cailin sulks. The yeti is made white and more muscular.

Cailin notices a new guardian forming, and starts draining it.

Titania turns to Jean in the tower and asks him to tell Cailin that the thing is interrogatable now. They fail to get any useful information.

Johnny tries to turn off the terminal guardian, but accidentally conjures a large grey tentacle.

Osric reminds Johnny via Jean to do what he told him to do.

Johnny looks in on contingency plans -- activating contingency plan six. Oops.

Johnny doesn't have any information. Jean doesn't have any information. Rainbow is listed as deceased. Julian doesn't have any information listed. Dara is listed as deceased. Ingold has a vast file. He has a Pattern. He beat people with a Pattern-token in Chaos, and chained a bunch of demons to it. The token is currently owned by Ilkandacian... see Ilkandacian. Wow. Jean tells Ilk about his file. Ilk resolves to find his propaganda agent and kill him. Julian's nose is Ilk's fault and is currently in a dusty place.

The reality engine can possibly create real places.

Faythe is the first person to be taken out as part of contingency plan six.

Cailin is listed as being in Ilkandacian's camp, and possibly being involved in the third plot.

There isn't any information listed on Cataan or snow.

Mages' Guild is listed as should be destroyed by now.

Current location of Ingold -- unknown.

Johnny checks on Mikail and Dalkantyr. It reads, "Manifesting". Dalkantyr is listed as currently pirated by Mikail. Lots of things about getting Dalkantyr back. Lots of stuff about Clarissa and Dalkantyr, and creation files... Johnny fails to enter the access code quickly enough and the creation files for Dalkantyr erase themselves.

Oberon has an extensive file. Current location unknown. Last known location: Phoenix shadow. Looks for Oberon, moon, and blood. Related items: Shaving, blood curse, Jewel of Judgment, Sword of State. The information on who blood-cursed him has been deleted.

Caine -- Judged by dragons; deceased.

There's nothing about pedestals, but there's lots of information about white statues. Any time a specific name is said and a clearance is not listed in a file, white dust coalesces. It brings lesser beings luck, greater beings death. Eventually coalesces into a white statue. They're also power sinks -- they make power by draining things around them.

Lists of powers and promontories are acquired.

No file on Llewella.

There's a file on Benedict. The person who wrote this wasn't Benedict's biggest fan. Something about him not being as competent as he likes to think he is.

Soul-eating grass. It says, sprinkle liberally on the Logrus. There's a whole care and feeding section. Send a Gardener every once in a while, and don't expect him to come back. Jean has Ilk post a note to Shiryu to make sure that his apprentices don't wander onto the grass. No info on trimming the grass.

Neville has a file. Puppet king of Amber, should be easily disposed. Currently being puppeted by Benedict.

Johnny finds a bunch of chemical formulas for shape-shifter virus. Norton is fished to the lab to investigate the formulas. They're the old ones -- none of Dara's formulas are there.

Norton whispers to Johnny to run a search for him. Norton goes back through the gate and Logrus-pulls off. Johnny refuses to tell anyone what he was searching for -- Norton apparently threatened him very effectively. [He got the location of the Slavers' Guild]

Bronelle. Backstabbing bitch. Very emphatically.

Johnny typed the word "Pharaban" and his prompt ran away.

"Princess Chandra" had the same response.

Invasion of Chaos --- status progressing.

Dragons. Do not meddle with... Children of the Serpent, do not piss off the Serpent.

Verra - minor goddess.

Current conspiracies - referencing deleted files.

There's a formula in there for creating the anti-Logrus amulets. The warning says, "Make sure that there are no Logrus users around at the time of creation -- they might get absorbed." It requires a few sacrifices of people who have walked the Logrus. Nothing there about destroying them.

Johnny tried to delete that formula, and curses. He just lost the account. Cailin looks around -- the walls are pulsing. Mandor looks around, and determines that it is time for everyone to go.

Jean changes his redirects from the mind-wipe field to the death rooms.

People evacuate through the gate.

Julian Invades Chaos

Chaos is being invaded on a number of levels by a very competent tactician. There are a number of people from the Mages' Guild that Amaranth is powering to provide magical support. The enemy brought magic with them, and theirs is specifically blocked against Cailin in particular.

Ilk evacuates the party to Suhuy's ways.

For those who notice, everyone attacking is wearing Benedict's colors. This has pissed Benedict off. Misunderstood Benedict is trying to console Benedict.

Cailin conjures a Saruman to drain the enemy troops. A soldier shows up shortly with a map and directions. He points and Saruman drains.

Over the Realms Lord channel, Marial is warning Melk that there are time-eating fields.

Ilk complains about the anti-Logrus amulets. Marial comments that it must be why he hasn't chipped in yet, and asks Ilk to track down the origins of the army. Ilk points out the invasion to Pattern Suhuy and his apprentice and loads up on raw power from the grey sphere before heading off.

Pattern Suhuy gives Ilk a variable Pattern puzzle-box, and then starts working on instructing his apprentice in its use.

Saruman claims to have drained all but the one who is feeding these. Cailin gives him more power to track that down.

Ilk notices a huge ball of power heading up the same trail that he is following behind him. It's burning up the trails as it goes. Ilk slows the ball somewhat and remains in front of it, using it as cover.

Very competently planned invasion and defense. Some of the Old Lords are actually helping; the rest are just hanging out and commenting.

Time passes. Sky turns. Jean goes the Mikail song. Nothing happens.

Ilk has followed the trail to a pedestal. There is a portal open, and power flowing through it in both ways. Ilk manifests into his primal form into the center of the ball of power and grabs an actual Jean saucer for a way back. All Jeans everywhere have a momentary blackness as if they were transiting through the Void. Ilk doesn't think that it's actually the Void -- it's just a void-like experience. You don't have to provide the motive power.

At the other side is the basement of the library in Vanir's Wrath. There is Julian. With no nose. The entire room is hostile towards Logrus, as if it were the inside of an anti-Logrus amulet. Patches of the room are hostile towards Pattern as well.

Jean tells Benedict of his find.

Julian easily absorbs the power. Ilk spreads the splatters around and ducks into one of the non-anti-Pattern areas with Jean. The puzzle trap drops onto the floor, as if it was the focus of the power.

Ilk tells Jean about the Logrus and Pattern situation, Jean fills in Benedict. Ilk asks Jean to fill in Princess Chandra. Jean is apologetic towards Benedict; a walls sconce melts off the wall and heads off in search of Princess Chandra.

Princess Chandra walks up, nods to Jean, and hands Benedict a piece of paper. Benedict refuses to sign a contract for Julian.

The Foreign Serpent Returns

The giant winged Serpent that dropped off Julian arrives and lands in front of Cailin. Cailin bows low. The Serpent extends a claw to him. Cailin starts to climb aboard. The Serpent flies off while Cailin is hanging from his paw. He flies briefly, then arrives in Cataan.

There is a hole ripped between this reality and Cataan by brute force.

Cailin is nowhere near his planets.

In Chaos

One of the Old Lords wanders over to Saruman. Saruman looks him up and down and says, "You aren't as powerful as my master. You must work for him. What do we do when we're waiting?" The Old Lord is amused, and creates a bird to lead Saruman off to House Moonlight.

Jean bows to the Old Lord as the son of an Old Lord. The converse is returned, granting Jean a bit more rank than necessary.
