Lots of Different Places

Princess Chandra stops talking to Ygg and asks Jean how long the banner on the tent has been missing.

Cailin and Zorro ride. Cailin yetis and flees from a missile, and ...

The Unicorn seeks Jean out and waits for Jean to bow. Jean tries to improvise a bow. The Unicorn accepts the bow, turns, and makes it apparent that he wishes Jean to witness something. The Unicorn walks off, then walks back. Jean ends up tractoring on the Unicorn's back as the Unicorn walks across shadow.

Jean looks around, but can't see anything -- the shadow appears empty and barren. Jean admits that he can't see the anti-dragons. Jean suggests seeking out a dragon, and the Unicorn concurs.

Jean in Chaos tells Ferethyn that the Unicorn seeks a dragon to witness something -- presumably the corpses of anti-dragons. Ferethyn talks to the dragon next to him, who talks to ...

In all of Ilk, there is an annoying vibration in a direction that he hasn't experienced before. Mostly Logrus, some serpentish, ...

"Suhuy" goes to the Logrus. Pharaban is pulling himself out of the Logrus. Suhuy is almost done with the repair; Pharaban is no longer needed to hold the Logrus together. Ilk points out the noise to Pharaban. Pharaban says that he has never encountered such before, and suggests that he send a student to check it out. Ilk does so, and keeps an eye on the student.

The dragon shows up, says something to the Serpent, then goes away again. The Serpent decides that he is no longer hanging in the sky and disappears. The stars are still mostly hiding, but some are tenatively coming out to dance again. There are no colors on the colored half of the sky.

Both Cailins get a trump call at the same time. It's Cailin's son. He says that his babysitter is back. Cailin is excited at the news. Kieron is bored -- he was playing in the Serpent's room, but can't now that he's back. Kieron wants to come to Cailin and play with the kids there. Even the torturey guy isn't there any more. He was fun for a while. Cailin tries to convince Kieron to stay put.

Cailin yetis off to tell the Serpent's Apprentice, who is currently cropping on a mountain range nearby, about the torturer. Ilk assumes that it is one of Princess Chandra's, and doesn't give it much concern.

Cailin gives one of the kids a yeti-back ride around the city.

Beldin turns to Cailin and says that he has a bad feeling. Ecto-Ilk tells the group about the Logrus alert. People panic briefly, then Ecto-Ilk goes off to blast Cyndia's army a few shadows over. They have some anti-Logrus pendants scattered about. There is a tap on Ilk's shoulder. Ilk fails to turn around. "What's up?" Zorro responds, "Subtle - we were supposed to be subtle." Ilk points out the Logrus alarm to Zorro. "Hark - a call for help!" Zorro and Don Serioli gallop off, chasing after the call.

Ecto-Ilk continues to blast the army. They are quite competent, and are actually trying to counter-attack the blasts of Pattern. Ilk moves to the next shadow over, just to be safe.

The last two survivors actually chase Ilk into the shadow that he is in. They don't seem to be affected by the Pattern. Ilk notices that one of them is carrying a Pattern dagger. Ilk throws a tendril back to Cailin and Beldin and tells them that he may have found a few of their relatives. Ilk leads the two guys back to Cailin and Beldin. The dragon determines that they aren't contaminated.

Jean goes over to greet the two. "Greetings. I'm Jean. Who are you?"

"I'm Fredrick. You're a flying saucer."

"You're observant."

Cailin and Beldin arrive on scene. Beldin greets Fredrick enthusiastically -- they're family. The contamination and decontamination process is explained to them, with some difficulty. The non-Patternish one got a headache when the army started to explode.

The new arrivals claim to have heard tales about Cailin -- Coral said that nobody should ever follow him into battle.

The concept of the city moving, the Serpent and the Serpent's Apprentice are roughly explained. The newcomers decide to stay and watch the city move.

Cailin trumps the archivist.

Jean tries to check the bear mage, the Guild second of the Mages' Guild, for contamination. He walks all of the way down to the Pattern room, throws a rock through where the rift in front of the room was, and discovers that the key is missing.

They chat for a while, the Jean whales the bear to the beer. The bear curls up and takes a nap inside House Cara.

Cagliostro

Someone pushed an odd object into the chambers previously occupied by the foreign potentate, which was immediately noticed by the 24/7 video survellance. Investigation was careful and second-hand, since Cagliostro figured it was a bomb. Which it was, an alchemical/chemical mix, capable of taking out the structural integrity and a good portion of the contents of the whole castle. Cagliostro went into minor panic mode until realizing that the bomber was unlikely to learn the proper lessons from their mistake, since they'd used the bomb so badly before.

Castle-sized boom, in an object set to trigger when probed. So he sent a demon, which ate the boom. Who had instructions not to bring it back even if it seemed safe, because it was 'probably a bomb' ;)
