Ilk confirms to Caelin that the power seeking to take him over has both his signature and Toram's.
Caelin warns or tries to warn Titania that she may be serving Toram's best interests while she is trying to repair his girlfriend. An elf pops into his head and claims that he'll get her the message, but tries to get Caelin distracted with food in his head. Caelin is suspicious of the food and refuses it all. The elf leaves. Caelin wonders if this was a conjuration of Toram's.
Ilk consults first with Ferethyn, then Marial regarding the current threat assessments from Cataan. Marial decides that it is likely time to move Caelin, then take the battle to the enemy.
A short time later, Ilk chimes in again about the necessity for Caelin to be moved, most likely Vanir's Wrath, where he can finish cleaning up Julian's issues.
Ilk runs off to the reality once tethered to Dalkontyr. He catches sight of Shiryu's work: some spheres that do not have the contagion properties of the grey spheres. A containment method. Ilk speaks to Shiryu of the house Moonlight being put under siege by the grey marble attack
Correction -- it is the plants that are impervious to the effects of the grey spheres.
[Ed: Should these references be to marbles? The "grey spheres" were larger and not contagious, whereas the marbles were contagious.]
Shiryu is confident that the issue of moving Caelin is in the capable hands of Marial. Ilk determines that Shiryu is simply determined to finish the task set before him. Ilk returns to find Shiryu's remaining apprentices all gathered in the area where the hole between Cataan and this reality used to be. Ilk bows to them, then explains the Caelin problem marble to them. They balk at the thought of changing the land around House Moonlight to accomodate the growing moat without Princess Chandra's express permission. Ilk runs off to get her permission.
He finds her, still at the Spiral. Chandra opines that to make more space available, they should move the Serpent's tail. She opts to get the Serpent's permission.
