Major Events:

Characters represented by players at this run: Cassandra, Celeste, Ilkandacian, Jean, Malachai, Norton, and Osric.

Malachai and Osric Enter Rebma

Malachai and Osric are heading down the stairs of Failla-Bionin towards Rebma. They decide that they are heading into a stronghold of the enemy, and decide to report in first.

Malachai trumps Corwin. Osric notices that the eyes on the trump are glowing. Malachai passes a written report through the contact. Malachai trumps Benedict. He hits a hard block. Malachai trumps Zack. He hits the trump block around Amber. He trumps Random, and gets through. He updates Random on the approaching party and all of the members thereof in a note. Random is not okay with the concept of eavesdroppers on trump, and decides to take some of his special pills and then make some trump calls, just to weird them out.

Random - "If I call you later and I seem weird, ignore me, unless it's important."
Malachai - "But what if it's a hallucination?"
Random - "It could be an important hallucination!"

Random yells at Martin while he talks with Malachai, and the trump contact ends with a "Don't do that! " Malachai decides not to trump Caine.

Malachai and Osric prepare to have Osric gate them out in case of trouble, and plan on only making a quick recon before leaving.

Malachai continues shadow-walking towards the source of the smoky water. Two steps farther, he gets a trump call. It's Random. He has a harpoon, from a harpoon-gun, sticking out of his shoulder. Random asks Malachai if he knows of any good tailors to fix the hole in his shirt, passes back a note responding to Malachai's note, and then hangs up.

Two steps farther down the staircase, Malachai gets another trump call. It's Martin. He's in a very dark room. Martin asks Malachai if he needs any assistance. He says that he doesn't care where Malachai is going - Random only has three more doors left off the hallway to search. Malachai pulls Martin through, and introduces him to Osric. Osric checks - Martin is not Fringe-worthy.

Martin, Malachai, and Osric reach the bottom of the stairwell. They are saluted by the guards at the gate. They enter, and chat among themselves. Martin says that he doesn't have any contacts that he wants to meet while he is here, and that his knowledge of the area isn't as useful as it could have been - he was only a kid when he was here. After some prompting from Malachai, Martin suggests a bar where someone could mingle and fish for information. Osric is deemed to be the least likely member of the group to be recognized, and it is decided that Osric should lag behind them, lose their escort, and visit that bar. They agree to meet again in an hour. Martin claims to not need a quick escape route - he knows of many places to hide in Rebma.

Osric successfully disassociates from Malachai and Martin and enters the bar.

Fleeing a Rapidly Shrinking Wrong Not Overworld

Ilk carrying Jean carrying Augral and Norton carrying Celeste are flying through an alternate not-quite overworld following the tracks of a giant Brand carrying a giant Jewel of Judgment.

Celeste devises a spell that generates a heads-up display in front of Brand's eyes. "Brand, honey, where are you going? ... -Celeste. You know, the one you just walked away from." Celeste can tell that Brand has turned around and is walking back towards them. She warns the group that Brand is returning. Ilk shifts to the rear of the party.

Celeste tells her faithful mount to aim for a shoulder. Norton starts gaining altitude, and Ilk follows him. After they climb for a while, the atmosphere starts getting a bit thin for Celeste. Ilk casts an environmental suit-spell on Celeste, and the group continues climbing.

Brand passes them. Norton and Ilk dodge and avoid being splatted like bugs on a windshield.

Celeste hollers at Brand. Brand stops moving, and turns around. Norton and Celeste land on his shoulder. Brand keeps moving. Celeste writes "On your shoulder!" on the HUD. Brand looks down and flicks Norton and Celeste off with a finger. Norton absorbs most of the blow, and manages to regrow wings before he hits the ground. Celeste writes "Ouch" on the HUD.

Brand starts looking around on the ground for them. Norton drops Celeste off on Brand's shoulder. Celeste tries again. "I'm on your shoulder."

Norton vacates the area. Jean notices that Brand's hand is larger than it was when it took the Jewel, tells Ilk, and asks if that is bad. Ilk replies that it's bad by definition - it's Pattern. Jean is skeptical.

Ilk notices that there is power sifting into the giant shape in front of him, mostly in the microwave range.

Brand tries to talk to Celeste, but his voice is outside her audible range. Brand puts a tiny HUD up in front of Celeste's eyes. They chat. Celeste tells him that he is growing; Brand counters that he and the Jewel are remaining constant, and that everything else is shrinking.

Ilk suggests to Norton that they leave, using that "special" trump of a place near the Abyss. Norton suggests that they go back through Jean's trump, and Ilk points out that they couldn't pull Jean through his own trump the last time they tried.

Norton tries to determine if he is shrinking. He is proportional to the things around him, and Brand and the Jewel are proportional to each other. Norton can change the things around him, but cannot change Brand or the Jewel.

Norton shifts the spectrum in which the microwaves are traveling. Ilk can no longer see any energy flowing into Brand. Norton can see the energy - it's just shifted farther than Ilk can perceive.

Ilk puts a hand on Norton's shoulder.

Brand starts jogging away. Norton yells, "Where are you going?" Celeste yells back, "Get out!"

Norton tries Dworkin's trump of the place by the Abyss. Ilk pushes. Jean pushes. Augral pushes. They are all standing on the edge of the Abyss. The trump is very hot. Some discussion ensues on the nature of hot trumps. Norton verifies that a hot trump isn't a good thing. No one seems to know for sure.

Ilk notices Ilk raise the Logrus near the Abyss. Three tendrils converge, and Ilks core dump to each other. Norton contacts Norton. They notice that the one that just arrived is less insane than the one on the grand tour through Chaos. They compare brain patterns, and try to extrapolate the trend and become less insane. They fail, and the new arrival becomes equally insane to the one in Chaos.

The Ilk approaching Darkover swaps places with Ilk, Norton, Jean, and Augral via Logrus. Jean is not okay with the Logrus-pull - it feels icky, like castor oil covering his body. Ilk is scornful, but agrees to shadow-gate next time.

Fleeing a Rapidly Shrinking Wrong Not Overworld

Brand and Celeste chat. Brand claims that he tried to trump out and failed, and that they're not in the overworld, so they must be out in shadow somewhere. He denies the concept of alternate realities.

Celeste tries to trump Malachai. She hits a stretchy trump block. She pushes, but not so hard as to fry his brain if he's busy.

Malachai is getting a trump call. He takes it. It's Celeste. She's sitting on a black, fabric-covered hill. Malachai tells Celeste that trumps are being eavesdropped upon. Celeste asks to be pulled through, but is uncertain if it is safe for her companion to be so close to Amber.

Celeste climbs up Brand's shirt and touches his neck. Malachai is now in trump contact with Brand. He's sure it's Brand because the mind that he is in contact with is sure it's Brand, and is telling him that on a fundamental level.

Celeste - "Well, my friend is large."

At his current scale, Brand's body would extend above the ocean while his feet were busy trampling Rebma.

[Brandzilla!]

Malachai and Celeste proceed to pass notes through the contact.

Malachai states that he is responsible for the security of Amber, and that the person with her is a known security risk.

Celeste claims that said security risk does not remember the events that resulted in him being a security risk.

Malachai mentions that he is standing next to Martin, who is not known for having good relations with the person with her.

Malachai greets Brand over the trump. Brand converses with Malachai in conversational tones, with a strong but not overwhelming mental voice. Brand says that he wants to come through so that he can talk to Benedict, to clear up some past misunderstandings. Brand offers to give his parole freely and willingly, and does so at Malachai's request.

Malachai writes a note for Martin. At the word "Brand", Martin asks for a thirty second head start, and runs.

Malachai checks to make sure that there is enough space nearby, and pulls Brand through. Brand is normal-sized, and is wearing a large glowing Jewel of Judgment around his neck. Celeste is nowhere in sight. "Where's Celeste?" "I think she's... " and Brand describes a point on the left side of his neck. Malachai can make out a tiny speck.

Celeste trumps Malachai. She whines to Malachai and Brand.

Malachai tries to trump Darkstar, and hits a block. He accepts help from Brand.

Cassandra Accepts an Apprenticeship with Princess Chandra

"So, my dear, you had expressed interest in continuing your training." Cassandra looks at Princess Chandra and smiles.

"At the moment my last apprentice was rather of a disappointment, and I'm looking for a replacement"

Cassandra asks about canceling contracts, the one on her in particular. Princess Chandra says that if Cassandra joins the Guild, the contract negotiations on her would be canceled. Princess Chandra describes a few ways to circumvent contracts, including surviving enough attacks that they get bored.

Cassandra - "Are [contracts] a matter of public record?"
Princess Chanadra - "No, they're a matter of guild secret ... and not all guild members get access. Only certain highly placed members get access to such matters."

Princess Chandra says that Cassandra is one of the few people that she can offer this to without expecting her hard work to go to waste in a thousand years or so.

This leads to a discussion of Cassandra's blood line, during which she asks if her blood line could cause any problems.

"... some members of your blood line are members of the slavers guild, which I find completely reprehensible."

Cassandra - "When do you expect the training to begin?"
Princess Chandra - "Hasn't it already?"
Cassandra - "When do you expect the intense training to begin?"
Princess Chandra - "Hasn't it already?"

"Well, you've already been apprenticed as a member of the Guild. ... the Guild doesn't only live here."

This surprises Cassandra, although she tries to hide it.

"How many other personal apprentices do you have at the moment?"
"Personally? Just two others at the moment."

Cassandra did her best not to ask who they were, or how the last one disappointed Princess Chandra.

"How does one advance in the guild?"
"You already know that... you work hard, ... you get promoted."

"What is the duration of the apprenticeship?"
"Until you graduate, or fail trying."

"What are the terms of the apprenticeship?"
"The terms are individually negotiated ahead of time, and are not modified later."

Cassandra asks when this training would start. Princess Chandra replies that there would have been more time "if you had [come when I first summoned you] but Ilkandacian apparently saw fit to dwaddle."

Princess Chandra says that there is a ceremony of some import happening soon, and that she would like Cassandra to be at her side at it, so time is somewhat limited.

"I accept"
"As you wish"

Princess Chandra turns a file around and pushes it across her desk to Cassandra. It contains notes on literally everything that she did in the Sith order, and the last page has a notation, "gone on hiatus for personal reasons", with the date of return listed as today, written in fresh ink. Cassandra is surprised at the amount of information Princess Chandra has on her, even after the amount of personal information that became apparent during the interview.

There are two loose pieces of paper in the file, One piece states that Cassandra asked to be let out of the Guild, and the other piece says that she moved from her current track to another, directly under Princess Chandra's tutelage. Cassandra signs the latter sheet, and rips up the former sheet, after a quizzical look at Princess Chandra and obtaining permission. "It's your file, dear"

Princess Chandra pushes another file across the table at Cassandra. There is not a name on the file, but it mentions that the guild was contacted to take a contract out on a member of the guild, and that although this is considered to be unusual, it was considered. Some members of the guild, without approval or permission from their superiors, attempted to move forward on the contract. Their names and the dates of their demise is listed. Cassandra remembers having killed most of them. The guild killed one of them, but there was one assassin left unaccounted for.

[Lazy killed one of the assassins]

Princess Chandra expects Cassandra to be at her side during a ceremony that will take place in several turnings. The ceremony will be here, and will concern the honoring of someone.

Princess Chandra turns back to the paperwork in front of her.

Cassandra asks if there is a place where she can put the files. Princess Chandra indicates a briefcase in a pouch hanging on the back of the chair. It's a black leather briefcase, with the symbol of the wheel on it. Cassandra puts the folders in the briefcase, and puts the briefcase back in the pouch.

Cassandra leaves the room and trumps her dad. She reaches the sandy one. "Hello" "How goes?" "Well. Norton is doing interesting things with bits of flesh with Pattern-staples in them, we're picking up bits of information..."

Corwin mentions that he would like to swing by the Warriors' Guild, in the hopes that some of them will try to attack him. He demonstrates the reasoning behind his lack of concern by sticking his sword through himself. It just slides in. Cassandra is mildly squicked.

Corwin - "Are congratulations in order?"
Cassandra - "For?"
Corwin - "I knew what you were coming here for..."
Cassandra - "Did everyone but me know?"
Corwin - "Ilkandacian is standing right next to me... he's running the grand tour."

Corwin relays Cassandra's thanks for the preparation to Ilk.

Cassandra asks Corwin to rescind the protection order. He says that he will consider it.

[Norton built an over-clocked Corwin]

Corwin asks Ilk to send a note to Gil telling her that Cassandra is all right.

Corwin asks Cassandra about throwing a party to mark her acceptance into Apprenticeship. Cassandra says that she would think about it, and Corwin mentions that he wanted to talk to Flora about it before hand.

Cassandra re-enters Princess Chandra's study. Princess Chandra rises and shrugs her shoulders, and her clothing ripples downward, changing into formal garb as it goes.

Princess Chandra holds her hand out to Cassandra. There is a special assignment tab in it. Cassandra takes the tab and adds it to her rank insignia. She is now a Sith Assassin, which is a definite promotion in status.

Princess Chandra shows Cassandra where to walk relative to her. It's not a bodyguard position. Cassandra is okay with that.

Gil Escapes Death

Ilk updates the other Ilks on recent events and sends a tendril to Gil. The tendril notices four beings approaching Gil, but Ilk cannot tell what they are, just their presence. Ilk tosses through a magical bug, and sees that the four are wearing Sith uniforms.

Ilk conjures a note for Gil, telling her that Cassandra is fine and has accepted an apprenticeship. Ilk mentions the four assassins. Gil asks if she should kill them, and Ilk advises Gil to go peacefully with them. "If I die, I'm going to come back to haunt you."

The four close on Gil, and Ilk feels pressure trying to force his tendril away. He resists the pressure briefly, then withdraws the tendril.

"Hey Corwin - could you ask Cassandra if Gil is being invited inside?"

Cassandra is getting a trump call. She takes it. Corwin relays concern regarding the four individuals closing on Gil's location to Cassandra. Cassandra asks Princess Chandra about her bodyguard. Princess Chandra expresses surprise that Cassandra has a bodyguard, and tells Cassandra that she sent some people to take care of a disturbance out front.

Princess Chandra calls off the hounds. Corwin drops the trump contact. Princess Chandra asks Cassandra if she could remove her bodyguard before someone not under her direct control removed said bodyguard. Cassandra trumps Corwin, and Corwin asks Ilk to bring Gil to him. Ilk pokes a tendril to Gil through the block and pulls Gil directly to the point Corwin indicated.

Gil - "Am I relieved of duty?"
Corwin - Yes, yes, as of right now you are relieved of duty

Gil reaches down, touches the dagger at her hip, and disappears.

Honey, I Shrunk the Celeste

Malachai's attempt to trump Darkstar fails. Malachai is getting another trump call. He steps away from Brand and takes the contact. It's Ingold. "You said that you might need assistance. Here's assistance." Ingold hands Gil through and ends the contact.

"Hello, Gil. Do you know my uncle Brand?" "I was introduced to him as Brandt... why are we able to breathe?" Gil says that she is coming through to take Malachai's place so Malachai can help Ingold. Malachai fills in Gil on the current enemy list - Oberon, Llewella, the white statued one whose name is unfortunate to mention, and the recently overthrown head of the mages guild in Chaos whose name is also unfortunate to mention. They speculate on how to reinflate Celeste. Malachai suggests that Norton might be able to help.

Ilk on the grand tour gets a trump call. He takes it. It's powerful, and not familiar. Ilk puts up mental shields. The shields are burnt through. Ilk tendri's out, breaking the contact.

Ilk at Darkover gets a trump call. He takes it. It's powerful, and not familiar. Ilk puts up mental shields. The shields are burnt through. Ilk tendri's out, breaking the contact. Before he completely tendri's out, there is a message embossed on his forebrain, "Malachai needs Norton."

Ilks resolidify. Ilk at Darkover updates the others and tells Norton that someone just sent him a message via trump that Malachai needs Norton. They waffle about how to send Norton to Malachai, and Ilk at Darkover receives another contact. He resists. It's insistent. Jean and Augral touch Ilk to provide backup, and Ilk takes the contact. It's the same thing. It evaporates Ilk's shields and erases the embossing. Even though the contact is drenched with Pattern, Ilk senses that the other side is holding out a hand. After some discussion and speculation as to the identity of the being on the far side, Ilk passes Norton through.

For a moment, Gil sticks out a hand, and Norton comes through.

Norton examines Celeste. He thinks that he can inflate her, but it would be much easier farther from Amber. Norton solicits power from Brand. Brand hands Norton the Jewel. Malachai notices Brand voluntarily give up a Jewel of Judgment to Norton. Norton tries, but has no way to access the Jewel, so hands it back and tells Brand that he will have to tap it for him.

Malachai notices a flow of Pattern energy from Brand to Norton. By the time the flow reaches Norton, it's almost all magic. Norton uses it to inflate Celeste.

Celeste is slowly getting larger.

Brand suddenly looks startled and says that they should move - someone just noticed that he was using the Pattern. The mob heads towards the exit. As they move, Malachai notices that Gil is no longer in sight. "Gil's missing - I should go back for her." "Should we continue?" "Yes" Malachai backtracks, and sees Gil standing over six dead folks. "They were following us."

Malachai and Gil return to the group. Periodically, Gil gives Malachai a nod, disappears, then reappears shortly. Malachai tells the group that Gil is dropping back to kill followers.

Norton - "Do we want to question them?"
Malachai - "They're dead."
Norton - "What happened to the others?"
Malachai - "They're dead."
Norton - "So, shall we question them?"

Malachai asks Gil to bring them a corpse.

The next time Gil appears, she's carrying two and a half corpses. She tosses them to Malachai, who slings them over Bucephalus. The half corpse is discarded. Gil apologizes. "There was more when I started."

Osric does the centaur thing again.

Norton greets the corpses. They look him up and down and decide that they need to kill him - he's an intruder, because he doesn't have Llewella's mark on him. After some discussion, Norton adds the happy helmet to the mix. It doesn't help. Under the happy helmet, they don't even know who Llewella is. Norton looks for a mark, and spots a huge stamp of Pattern on the corpse. Osric looks, and sees some magical marks on the corpses. Brand mentions that everyone around them has the Pattern marks, and that the marks are in the shape of an 'L'. Osric notices that most of them don't have magical marks - just the corpses, some that are skulking around behind them, and some snipers above them.

They maneuver to avoid the snipers.

Brand draws 'L's on everyone in the group, except for Celeste, who is too small. Gil comes back to the group, and says that they're only trying to kill her now. Brand traces his fingertip over her forehead. Gil goes back just in case.

Norton suggests that they could deal with Rebma by destroying the magic keeping the water breathable. Malachai declines the kind offer.

Gil returns again. "Guys, make your own way out. There are troops massing for us." She runs off, telling Malachai that she has her own way out.

Osric opens a shadow gate and steps through. The mob follows, to Osric's surprise.

Brand, Norton, Celeste, Malachai, and Bucephalus leave Osric and go through a trump gate to an unnamed glade out in shadow. Malachai asks Brand to remove the mark from his forehead. Brand retraces his finger over Malachai, Norton, and Bucephalus's foreheads.

Osric waits for his window of opportunity and enters the Fringe. He travels to the control center, locks the gates down, and starts figuring out what else was infected in his absence.

The group is now in a nice, quiet glade. Celeste is growing much more quickly.

Malachai trumps Corwin and passes through a note. The note explains that he has a Brand with him who may not be the Brand that Corwin knows so well and that they went to Rebma and got discovered and so on. Corwin trump him back, and sends through a note saying, "It's a Brand, kill it now. He might be nice now, but he always gets worse. He's crazier than Norton. ... and keep him away from all possible Jewels of Judgment."

In Chaos

Ilk is making walls, Norton is raising troops, and Jean is a spirograph.

The Dzur are searching out mages and killing them. The Sidhe are searching out Logrus users and cutting them off from their power source by forming bubbles of Faerie around them.

A Ceremony in the Assassins Guild

One Ilk, a Jean, and a Augral are in Darkover. Ilk searches for a big blue gem. He finds one and tries to go there but hits a genetic block, and fails. He searches for another, finds it, and pulls the group there. The inhabitants of the tower are looking at him strangely, but when Ilk shifts into Mikail's form, they stop, muttering something about it being a redheaded thing.

Ilk contacts the gem. There is a spark, and Clarissa appears. She shakes her finger at him. "I told you not to do that except in an emergency!" Ilk says that he thought she would want to know what happened to the group that left her tower. Clarissa says that she is about to go to a formal ceremony, and that they can talk on the way.

Ilk returns to his own form and introduces Clarissa to Jean, as the son of Rainbow and Flora, and Augral, as a newly acquired companion. Looking at Jean, Clarissa comments, "...that would be appropriate."

The world around them tilts, and they are in a very formal receiving room.

Cassandra has entered a large room with Princess Chandra. There are people focusing their attention on a box. About three quarters of the people here are in Sith uniforms, and the others are in a variety of uniforms, with a small scattering in ninja uniforms. The box seems to become occupied. In the box first appears Clarissa, followed by Ilkandacian, a Jean, and a large fuzzy thing.

Jean waves to Princess Chandra. She grins at him a little bit. Cassandra notices that there is a slight grin on Princess Chandra's face as she looks at the five year old.

From what Ilk knows of the rankings in the Assassins Guild, there is nobody under the rank of master present.

Clarissa realizes what is expected and sits down, gesturing to Jean and Ilk as she does so. Jean and Ilk follow suit. Princess Chandra waits and then sits down, acknowledging a guest.

Princess Chandra speaks. "Honored members of the Guild... It is seldom that we give this honor to members of our Guild, and even more seldom to those outside this Guild ... for helping take out a piece of someone on whom we had a contract."

Princess Chandra turns to Cassandra. "Would you be willing to present this award?" She holds up a ribbon with perfectly blank medallion hanging from it. Cassandra takes the award, and walks over to Clarissa.

Clarissa grins softly. "I guess that you have found a teacher."

Clarissa bows her head to accept the ribbon.

Princess Chandra continues. "This medal acknowledges a debt that we can never pay. If you ever have a need for a contract, a discount on our services will be provided"

Princess Chandra asks if anyone else should be included in the specific congratulations. Clarissa stands and starts to open her mouth, then runs her gaze past Ilk. Ilk returns a congratulatory look, after a massive amount of waffling on the part of the player.

Clarissa gives a brief speech, about how nobody could do it alone, but the others seem to be recovering and are unable to receive accolades at this time. Clarissa sits after the speech.

Princess Chandra stands, the assassins stand, Ilk stands, Jean stands. There is a collective intake of breath, and the only people left in the room are the people in the box, Princess Chandra, and Cassandra. Cassandra notices a few trap doors swinging closed, but it is clear to her that each assassin took a different way out.

Princess Chandra approaches the box. She thanks Ilk for making it possible for her to fulfill the contract, and for bringing her apprentice to her. Ilk and Princess Chandra converse. Princess Chandra mentions that Ilk is very modest, as she noticed Clarissa's invitation to be honored. Ilk explains that those who have noticed his actions have tended to retaliate, and he is not sure if he could survive much more recognition. Princess Chandra replies that nothing taking place within her Guild would reach the outside world. Ilk fails to think of an appropriate and non-insulting response, so just nods and changes the subject.

Ilk mentions that Lord Suhuy has returned to his domain. Princess Chandra says that she will have to stop by and say hello, and asks Ilk to relay her apologies for the mess.

Princess Chandra turns to Clarissa and says, "Your family appears very accomplished at what it does."

She turns to Jean and says, "You should grow up quite interestingly."

Princess Chandra tells Jean and Ilk that they are welcome in the outer sections of the guild, and ...

Princess Chandra exits, and Cassandra follows her.

A young man enters the room and says, "When you are done, it is my responsibility to clean the box." Ilk glances up at Clarissa. Clarissa closes her eyes for a moment and the world shifts.

Princess Chandra congratulates Cassandra on her actions during the affair. She congratulates Cassandra on her ability to blend in and look like she belonged. "That's frequently a useful ability in this guild."

There is a knock at the door. Princess Chandra calls, "enter", and a young man enters. "Sorry, Mom - I just wanted to tell you that the visitors left." The kid leaves. Princess Chandra says that not all of her offspring follow her path. She's not sure what to do with him - he seems to be followed by the most terrible luck.

Princess Chandra starts explaining Cassandra's duties.

Princess Chandra explains that contracts are assigned to assassins, who are then expected to fulfill them in an appropriate amount of time. If they take too long on the contract, it will be reassigned. If someone is advancing too quickly on a contract, it will also be reassigned.

Cassandra expresses her preference for not taking any contracts on her blood relatives. "Funny, I'd expect that you would carry out our current contract on your father, so you could take your time on it." Cassandra points out that Princess Chandra said that if one took too long on a contract, it would be reassigned. Princess Chandra implies but fails to promise that if Cassandra took the contract on Corwin, she would have as much time as she wanted.

"You as my apprentice will accept no assignment except for from my hands."

"You carry the honor of the guild with you wherever you go..."

"We in the guild are concerned with more than just death, every death will have its appropriateness..."

"You will learn lessons from the Etiquette and Dancers Guilds, but only the lessons of my choosing"

"If I ever summon you, you will come immediately, no questions, no delays. As a note on that, I have summoned two of my apprentices, once each, in all of the time that I have had apprentices."

"You will undertake no menial tasks, as doing so will besmirch my honor."

"... and you are not to ever kill anyone without a sealed contract handed to you by my hand."

Cassandra has problems with that last rule. "Certainly there must be exceptions to such a rule."

"Oh? You're a member of the Assassins Guild now. Any death you leave behind you should be the Assassins' gift."

"In self-defense?"

"You should be good enough to remove a threat without killing."

"In the defense of others?"

"You should be good enough to remove a threat without killing."

"One of my duties includes leading an army."

"You should be a good enough general to win without having to personally enter the combat."

"And if I'm not?"

"Then don't get involved in those situations."

The list of rules continues.

Princess Chandra gives Cassandra an indefinite amount of time off to make her presence known around the Courts of Chaos and to let appropriate people know about her new status.

Princess Chandra says that she will have some master-level bodyguards whose role is to keep hot-shots that think she does not deserve her rank from killing her. They will not be obtrusive - if they are noticed, they will receive demerits.

Princess Chandra points out that her bodyguards frequently only have to say, "No, that's a Real status tab. She received it from Princess Chandra's hand." and people who are inclined to bother her will leave her alone.

[Cassandra's bodyguards are not guarding her, they're guarding the Order. Celeste's player is not okay with that.]

Princess Chandra explains that Cassandra should not deliberately come into conflict with her relatives... Princess Chandra's honor supersedes that of Cassandra's relatives, and Princess Chandra would not want to clean up after her honor.

Some discussion of Cassandra's travel habits ensues.
