The Altantis II Project Press SectionIn the past, missions of discovery, such as the Apollo missions and the voyages of Jacques Cousteau, caught the attention of the entire world and left children and adults alike in awe of the work being done. It is the hope of the Atlantis II team to inspire a similar feeling of awe by bringing our mission to the public via various technological mediums. These include the use of webcams and constantly updated website detailing broad-termed research results and news. We also allow some of our more televised sponsors (AOL/Time Warner and Viacomm) to broadcast news and shows pertaining to the Atlantis 2 habitat. We certainly encourage news "stunts" to garner publicity, such as allowing occasional visitors and, in essence, open the goings-on of the station to the entire world. In the future, in addition to the previously mentioned publicity strategies, we would like to see an above-water station corresponding to the Atlantis 2 habitat open to the public. This would serve both as a museum modeling the station and a secondary laboratory in which to perform marine experiments. General Press Release Technical Releases |
