Now that we have learned some of the fundamental workflows of the Fusion 360 software, we now have the opportunity to build on and explore these skills as we design our own thermometer housing!
Use the tools in this tutorial (or any others you may come across) and make modifications to your copy of the base thermometer design, showcasing your uniquity and interests! There is no right or wrong way to start or finish this process - just make sure you're proud of the end result.
We will be 3D-printing your designs in the coming week, so there are a few physical limitations to your design to keep in mind:
As always head over to the #ask-the-tas channel if you get stuck and have a question, and keep an eye on the #announcements channel for news about Fusion 360 Office Hours!
Detailed submission instructions will be available Thursday, March 4. We'll be asking for a copy of your files, a picture of your design exported from Fusion 360, a link to your design and a name for your design. We will be putting together a portfolio page for you with your thermometer design
Submissions are due by 5pm, Friday, March 5. Late submissions through the end of the long weekend will be accepted.
While we covered some of the basic tools in this tutorial, there are many others that you may find useful. The following is a list of the TA's favorite Fusion commands and some links to relevant tutorials.
