Sept 18 (M)
   All sections meet in 4-249 today.

To prepare for today:

  1. Study and memorize all the vocabulary items ('Breakdowns,' pp. 38-39).
  2. Learn Hiragana "A" through "KO" on your own (Kana Material & Worksheet), and bring the Kana-Kanji Version text to class. Your preparation includes that you can recognize and write the assigned kana letters.



Sept 19 (T)

To prepare for today:

  1. Work with Audio and memorize CCs 1 through 6.
  2. Practice Drills A through E. Work with Audio. Pay attention to the form, the pronunciation and intonation, and think of WHEN and HOW you may use these phrases.
  3. Learn Hiragana "SA" through "TO" on your own (Kana Material & Worksheet), and bring the Kana-Kanji Version text to class. Your preparation includes that you can recognize and write the assigned kana letters.
  4. Do Day 1 Hiragana Exercise in your course packet.

Sept 21 (R)

Toprepare for today:

  1. Work with Audio and memorize CCs 7 through 12.
  2. Practice Drills F through K. Work with Audio. Pay attention to the form, the pronunciation and intonation, and think of WHEN and HOW you may use these phrases.
  3. Learn Hiragana "NA" through "YO" on your own (Kana Material & Worksheet), and bring the Kana-Kanji Version text to class.
  4. Review the Hiragana "A" - "TO" (Kana Material & Worksheet) and be prepared to write down words using these letters.
  5. Do Day 2 Hiragana Exercise in your Course Packet.

Sept 22  (F)

To prepare for today:

  1. Review all CCs, SP, and MN, in L.1A and L.1B.
  2. You need to be able to use L.1 words, patterns, expressions (including Utilization) accurately and appropriately in different contexts.
  3. Make sure that you work on Lesson 1 Section C:    Eavesdropping and Utilization    (pp. 45-47) as well. Check MIT Only Quiz Review Materials in Quiz Review Materials    for answers.
  4. Do Day 3 Hiragana Exercise in your course packet.

  Next Tuesday we have L2. A Vocabulary Quiz.  Prepare well.
