Tomorrow is my wedding day! Although Claude and I have been living together as a couple for quite some time, father had decided on this date last year when we told him we were engaged. He felt that a year's time was excellent for any young couple. When I asked him how long mother and he were engaged for, he blushed and said that wasn't any of my business. Claude and I had discussed getting married earlier in the year but he stood by father's wishes and we waited. It is going to be held at the same church my father and mother were married so many years ago. It is going to be a wonderful day.

Claude was visited by the Chatelet today. It has been the first time since father passed away that they have been to the shop. It was not something new to Claude, he had been around when they visited father the year before. Father was much more understanding of their position than Claude. He did not start a fight with them but I could tell that he wanted to. They wanted to know what we were printing, what the methods of the press were and why there was a woman in the print shop.

The last question affecting Claude something fierce. He mentioned that I was an avid reader and quite knowledgeable in the science of printing as well as his wife. They continued to hassle him about his printing methods and the supposed rebelliousness of the content. Claude immediately went to his desk to retrieve the edict from the Administration of the Book Trade to inform that that the content of his printing was approved and worry free. After more bickering and time wasted, they left. I believe that they were looking for bribes and I'm pleased in my husband-to-be. I must get some sleep though, tomorrow is a very important day!
