The funeral was today. Many of the local printers came out to pay their respects. Its kind of lonely without father but I'm doing better now than I was a week ago. Father's health only deteriorated after Christmas time. He developed a fever and had to be confined to bed until the end. Doctors came and said that there was nothing they could do. Claude and I spent most of the time catering to his needs and trying to make his last days comfortable
Father would always tell me not to be afraid of death. He spoke of it as it were a trip that he was going to take and would be back soon. He always said that he looked forward to seeing my mother and telling her what a beautiful young woman I had become. Now he can tell her that I've met a wonderful man and will be married soon. It's unfortunate that he won't be here for our wedding but I know he will be watching.
