Claude has been here for four weeks now and he and father are getting along wonderfully. Father keeps telling me about how he understands Father's methods at the press and how Claude is always willing to learn. It pleases me to see him so happy about printing and teaching again. The last apprentice that worked with him was a failure.

He has moved into the apartment above the shop now, father thought that he was wasting his money at the boarding house. Father has also informed the Administration of the Book Trade that he is training Claude as an official apprentice. Father has a few other men working for him but they are trained printers and have families of their own. I've been cooking for the both of them now and cleaning house.
