Auditions for this semester will be held on Wednesday, September 2, according to the info at the bottom of our department website. Sign up for an audition slot by Tuesday, September 1, 11:59pm:

Audition details

Arrive before 7:05PM on Wednesday, September 2, at this Zoom link. The link is protected by MIT authentication, so please contact us if you do not have an MIT Zoom account


Auditions will be held on Wed., Sept. 2 from 7-9:30 pm on Zoom. Students should sign up for an individual audition (including returning members). The first half hour will be an informational session for all returning and prospective members, with individual auditions beginning at 7:30pm. The Audition will consist of:

  1. Testing of vocal range
  2. Recalling simple melodic patterns
  3. If the student has some experience with sight reading, they will be asked to sight read a simple major or minor melody
  4. If the student has a solo song prepared (folk song, musical theater song, or art song) a recording of that song may be submitted to Bill Cutter before Sept. 2.

Don’t be discouraged if you have never done a choral audition before. Many of our members have little or no choral experience before joining. No reason to be nervous! Our auditions are very friendly.
