Paul
Karen was dropped off first, and Gordon got out of the limo after her.

The moment they left, I lashed out at Wendy. "What the hell did you think you were doing out there? Did you just sort of forget who your date was?"

"Paul..." She was trying to get me to calm down so she could buy more time to think up a good excuse. It's not really something she's good at on short notice.

"What are you going to say? That, surprise, you decided David wasn't so bad after all? I don't care about that. I'm upset that you said that no matter what happened between you and David, you'd respect me as your prom date and at least spend some time with me. And when I asked you about it at the dance, you just lied at me. So, with that being the problem at hand, now, what do you have to say?"

"Look, we'll talk about this after we drop Gordon off," she said, as Gordon started back down the driveway.

"Fine," I said, and we just stared at each other until we got to Gordon's. Man, he must have been uncomfortable, but he knew what was going on. We said bye to him, and he got out of the limo in a hurry.

"Well?" I started to ask, but Wendy reached over and turned on the TV.

"There's nothing good on," she complained, as she fiddled with all the dials.

I really didn't have anything to do but wait the ride out, so I did. I hope Wendy and I can settle this out and go back to being friendly again.
