The Neural Control of Vision
P. Ongoing Research

figure showing performance of individuals with intact, deficient or no stereoscopic vision on the stereo and parallax testsFigures 16-8 to 16-11 present data on these three tests from subjects who have intact stereoscopic vision (IN), who are stereo deficient (SD) and who are stereo blind (SB). Mean performance on the stereo and parallax tests appears in Figure 16-8. The performance of stereo blind subjects is at chance for stereopsis. For stereo deficient subjects performance is significantly poorer than for subjects with intact stereopsis. The performance of all subjects is good for parallax. Surprisingly, intact subjects performed significantly faster in this sample.
