To assess interocular integration, several tests were devised three of which are shown in Figure 1. For each test stimuli were flashed on through the stereoscope using binocular or interocular conditions. One of the figure tests, shown on the left in Figure 16-6 , involved the interolcular presentation of triangles, right side up for one eye and upside down for the other, which when integrated was perceived as the star of David. Under binocular conditions both eyes were shown the star of David.

The second test shown consisted of words which under interocular presentation conditions are perceived differently when the percept is integrated and when it is not integrated; lack of integration is indicated when subjects report seeing the word S U D or T R Y. Integrators report seeing the word STURDY.
