Michael Montag

Michael is a postdoc in the Cummins group. He carried out his Ph.D. studies at the Weizmann Institute of Science under the direction of David Milstein, in his home country of Israel. Michael's Ph.D. research was concerned with mechanisms of organometallic transformations mediated by late transition-metal pincer complexes.

In the Cummins lab, Michael is pioneering a new project on the fundamental aqueous coordination chemistry of cyclic and linear polyphosphates. This project is inspired in part by the Nocera Co-OEC discovery, and is aimed at evaluating and understanding the properties and potential value of polyphosphates as supporting ligands for chemical transformations relevant to renewable energy.
