The Welcome Page
One of the mail features of the welcome (or index) page of a highschool
website is that this is where you first get hit with the layout. Is this
going to be a place that'll crash your browser? Some places, like
Redwood Let you know right off the
bat, but this is fairly rare. More often, what is communicated by the
welcome page is what toys the students have been taught. Is the background
so complicated as to make the text unreadable? Is the text formatted so that
it doesn't fit into your browser's window?
The next standard feature is the graphic of the school. Usually, this is a
photograph of the building or of a sign outside it. Optionally, this includes
smiling students, or is replaced by a classroom scene.
After that, there comes the usual feature of the intro page: a list of links.
Almost everything goes there - the usual ones are:
