Vertigo

Vertigo Exhibit at Cannytrophic Design
The project was inspired by this quote from Milan Kundera's The Unbearable Lightness of Being. Initial prototyping of code at my apartment in Harvard Square. Note how the pen is zip-tied to the machine.
A gravity-preloaded pen holder applies a constant tip pressure irrespective of variations in paper height. Magnets hold the paper to a steel surface. The magnets get pushed to the side rather than damage the machine in the event of a crash.
Even though written by machine, subtle clues hint that a real pen was used. One of eight unique letters that the machine produced over the course of the show.
