Laboratory

The MIT Medical Laboratory conducts tests ordered by MIT Medical physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and referral providers. Our specialties include microbiology, hematology, chemistry, urinalysis, serology, phlebotomy, and point-of-care testing.

Lipid Panels
For lipid panels, patients should fast for 14 hours, taking nothing more than water and prescribed medications.

Appointments
Patients who need a semen analysis or therapeutic phlebotomy should call for an appointment. Otherwise, you can stop by during lab hours, as long as your clinician has ordered the required lab tests.

Lab Results
Most test results are available within 24 hours, but you should ask about turnaround times when you have the lab work done. To protect patient confidentiality, test results are reported directly to the clinician who ordered the work, so please call your doctor for the results.
