OK, that leaves following the red path down towards the archway.

Haeraan detects traps on the path. It turns out there are a lot of them. A whole lot.

Avoiding the traps, we get to the end of the path with the mystic archway and the devil face of blackness.

There's a taunting verse as expected so we can be pretty sure that this is the way, but there are many sub clues within the clue. Oh we're so doomed. We memorize the bit.

Kyrik pokes his ten foot pole into the mouth and now has a 9.5 foot pole. Doing it into the archway doesn't seem to destroy it. Yay!

But of course, we are scared, so we putter around with the box on the mural some more.

There's a lever inside the trapped box. Haeraan flips the lever and falls into a pit trap. And so it begins.

He avoids the vast majority of the damage and only pokes his finger on a small spike at the bottom. Of course, this poisons him. But he manages to shrug it off.

He climbs out.

We end up in a 10 by 20 room, oh woe. Time to look for ways out. There's a small crawl space. It comes out into a strange hallway with lot's or colored portals.

We notice that we're followed around by an angel of death.

Oathar manages to open a passage to a temple. It's a rotten temple with lot's of maggots and stuff, but good holy symbols. How odd. In the pews, we find money! Hoorah!

We also find a small slot in the wall with a small O inscribed above it. About the size to accept of a small flat gem or ring or something. Imre presses his ring of light into the slot. As secret passage opens and leads down to a wooden door. Oathar blows a traps roll, and Kyrik falls in another pit trap. He gets poisoned but delays it for a few hours. Imre clears him. Then there's more falling into pits by Haeraan as Oathar floats over them. Oops. Luckily, it's a fortuitous secret door in the south wall of the third pit. Yay!

We walk into a gas trap and Haeraan and Oathar flee in delusional terror. Eventually, we are caught and purified. We get around the gas by finding the secret door, and head around left and left.

We find the abandoned laboratory mentioned in the diary. It's clearly time to rest. Haeraan and Oathar rest, while Imre wakes up some of the stuff in some of the jars. Ick. The oozing ochre attacks the sleeping Haeraan. People mostly flail ineffectially, so while it disolves Haeraan's leg, it grabs Oathar's neck. Imre anihilates it.
