In which our heroes ...
Orhan 1 Day 36 TE 6063
OK, we recast some terrible spells to assume Agent X's skills and press
on.leaving over some traps, we end up at a door. Oathar looks through
the door and finds an quaint evil sitting room. Lot's of funery furniture
and the like. Ick. Searching, the room is filled with emtpy trunks and
shakes once in a while. While searching through the trunks, the floor
shakes and we end up grabbing the tapestries for support. This of course,
turns the tapestries into green slime. We dodge like mad as we are terrified
of green slime, most horrible of all monsters. Oathar panics and fireballs
the whole room!
After some fighting, and a lot of healing, we end up with piles of massively
dessicated green slime dust. Imre gathers a vial and we leave via the
secret door. Onward, we find a four way intersection. It of course has
a pit trap in the center, but we are not fooled by such childish tricks
any longer. Hopping over the trap, Oathar lands in the extra hidden trap
behind the trap. His shoulder is shattered and even after Imre's ministrations,
will require 7 days to heal.
They find a secret door hidden behind a false door and with a secret
floor door immediately behind it. Following along, we come to a door that
requires three swords to be stuck in to open it. There's a brief scare
as we wonder if the party even has three swords between us, but it turns
out that rapiers count. Whew. We open the door and head in to the "pillared
hall" It's filled with death and horrible magic, a throne with crown
and sceptre, a gem of doomful smiting, etc. Perplexed, Haeraan uses his
sense past stuff, and reports that they picked up the crown and sceptre
and went through the secret door. OK then. We pick up the crown and sceptre
and use them to open the throne door by touching silver to silver thanks
to Kyrik's deduction. Haeraan leads us downstairs. The six steps at the
bottom are different colors. Oh dear. Copper panels, with silver ceiling,
etc. On the fourth steps is a bronze cylindrical key, and huge doors beyond.
(Huge! 28 feet tall, made of solid mitrhil.)
We open the mithril doors with the gold end of the sceptre. We head through
to what we expect is the fake tomb of Ascerak. It's got a chest filled
with 10,000 50 gp gems, and 10,000 10gp platinum pieces. Yeah, that's
a trap. And yet, we can't leave it behind. Everyone tries to convince
Oathar that we could leave it, but he's not having any of it. Haeraan
figures out where to go next, IE down the hole under one of the golems,
but Oathar still won't leave without the money. Oathar and Kyrik scoop
all the loot into the bag of holding. Whoa.
We open into a corridor south with two doors leading south. We find a
hidden keyhole that clearly fits a golden key. Sadly, we only have half
of the golden key. Sigh, maybe we need to go back to find it.
We head back to the sarcophogus, and Kyrik opens it getting poisoned.
No golden key in the sarcophogus either. Sigh.
Boy, we seem stuck.
