We attack the temple guards! Oathar opens with a fireball, Alynna, and Haeraan trhwo death about them. Imre checks to see if the people we are trying to rescue are mixed in with those we're killing. He thinks not, so Kyrik cuts loose too. A snake falls out of the trees and attacks Imre.

Suddenly, a guardsman with a spear gets a 14D on Haeraan and stuns him a bunch. He recovers and exacts vengeance. One of the guardsman calls Alynna's attack weak. Enraged, she dumps the full measure of her fury upon him. His broken body serves as a warning to others.

A bunch of snakes drop down and bite Oathar a lot. Kyrik kills them. Oathar is struck blind by channelers, Alynna kills them. Oathar bleeds a lot, Imre heals him.

The channelers flee into the temple and lock the door. We all pile up against the door.

We get in the temple after Imre undoors it. Sadly, there are snakes all over the place. They are getting really out of hand. then a giant snake of doom rises up from out of the pit behind the altar. Oathar teleports to the altar to shield the sacrifice with his own body. It's indeed Saera. Imre temporarily incapacitates the high priest. Everyone else fights snakes and snake guards and snake casters and the giant snake and all sorts of annoying people.

Eventually, it becomes clear that things are getting completely out of hand. Haeraan cuts the bonds on the sacrifice Saera, and Oathar (spends piles of fate points) and teleports us back to Oathar's house in Risenda.
