In which our heroes ...
Orhan 4 Day 6 TE 6063
There are buried structures down there.
Haeraan merges into the ground and looks around, finally finding a fairly
intact buried building. We teleport in. Between Darkvision and Light,
we can wander around. The area we are in appears to be natural, but the
holes in the floor leading down appear to be worked.
A tunnel leads downwards and we have to stoop a bit. Checking with out
various magical sense modes, we discover that the place is filled with
Trogli.
Exploring, we set off a trap and are cover in Unholy Water! Aaaarrrggghhh!
And to think we were going to talk to them.
We move on a little more with Haeraan looking for traps and then a bunch
of Trogli pop out of the wall, spray him with unholy water. Oh, they are
really starting to annoy us.
Haeraan yells out in Trogli to knock it off. We proceed.
They spray him again and yell "Leave stupid humans!"
Kyrik portals us through to the parallel tunnel with the Trogli in it.
Haeraan finally rises up out of the floor into another room and throws
commands at the Trogli.
A few more Unholy water spraying later, (sigh), we catch a Trogli.
Imre True Charms him, and then he looks around. He says, "Oh, I
have something for you," and gives a note to Alynna. "Hi sis.
I got a prophetic vision a while ago, so I prepped the place for you.
Are you enjoying the refreshments? Feel free to wander around. You never
know what you might find."
The Trogli says the great master sent them down here. He tells us about
the Trogli high priest of "the great one" = Zatar. The great
lord took all the good stuff and gave them holy water spritzers.
Basically, it just a big death trap of doom. Nothing good here. We make
the Trogli forget and then teleport out. Sigh, that was annoying. Now
Haeraan has a Holy Water Spritzer. Great.
We head to a plateau to the east to camp for the night.
In the distance, first watch sees a flight of giant bats coming towards
us. Imre kills them. Yeah, that was too easy, so it's probably a distraction.
Then the entire campsite starts falling. Oh look Shi-Hulud is attacking.
We teleport up and out of the worm before it swallows everything.
Kyrik convinces us to commute home.We sleep in Arisia's villa. Ha!
Orhan 4 Day 7 TE 6063
We return to the deserts of Zor after a nice bacon filled breakfast.
Yum.
We trek across the trackless wastes once more. Tradewind finds us a nice
rock outcropping in the mid-afternoon.
We camp on the rock that night. Deluxe tents for all. During first watch,
there are skittering figures out among the rocks. Kind of like little
people. Alynna creeps out there to stalk and overhears a Rahayan whisper,
"We see you. We know you stalk. Do not attempt to ambush us."
Oathar shouts "Parley!" and there is some shuffling and a figure
comes down out of the rocks. He's a somewhat deformed hunchbacky mutant
man. The bow to Mornan Zaon. The prophesy of the return of the king. Wow.
If we were really fulfillment of the prophesy, we would have the key
and the power source. Oh wait, we do. They become excited and drag us
out here. We head down into the cave complex in the rocks where we hear
the dripping of water. The man is, obviously, Stilgar. There's a cavern
and we head down into a chamber with the outline of an obelisk engraved
in the side of the wall. Mornan places the power core into the obelisk
and it lights up and the chamber is filled with a powering up humming
sound.
All along the ceiling, light strips light up. Airflow starts. The dripping
water turns to a flow of water. Mornan Zaon thinks it's an Emergency Fallout
Shelter. Mostly for high officials. Yes, the king has indeed returned.
He will lead his new people against the Lugraki. With 90,000 gold and
some good leadership, and this army, he could probably get a significant
part of Zor back in about 5 years.
The locals tell Alynna that the lugraki call her the Bringer of Death.
She's flattered. The Lugraki have been warned to run away from her and
shoot her with arrows. Their priests have been instructed to kill themselves
before she kills them.
Mornan Xaon will be operating from here and Norek.
Imre goes and talks to the 3rd level priestess of Eissa. He uses his
minion powers to authenticate himself and she falls over dead. Eissa said,
it's her time. Everyone here is upset with Imre for killing her. Eissa
commands him to enlighten them. He starts with the old priests acolyte,
a first level priests.
Oathar helps Kyrik teach one of the locals to write so their oral traditions
can be recorded. Valris owes Oathar a favor.
